Thank you. I was thinking to myself when I woke up this morning that a concise presentation like this would save me reading the entire postgame thread. And it has.

My sole comment: how did we lose by only 15 pts?

I don't understand how CoHawk is so hesitant to drive to the basket when the lanes are wide open yet throws up a half court 3 seemingly twice a game.
Agreed. Anytime he does a pump fake, I pretty much assume it will be a wild shot or a t/o on a bad pass. When he thinks, it usually doesn’t go well. Driving the basketball is something he can do but for whatever reason, isn’t part of his game right now.

It probably has been said 100 times that free throw misses killed us. When we missed ft early I knew the game was over.

I still haven’t figured out his role. He is described as tall, has length and skills. How are we using that? Please. Anyone know his job description. I can’t believe we are taking advantage of his talents

Yep. I saw a mock draft that has him going 29th in next year’s draft. My neighbor, Paul, prepared it. He keeps a nice lawn, so I generally trust him on stuff.
I think to school of thought is that he comes here to step up in competition and work on his body. If he isn't a NBA prospect in a couple years, he may decide to go back to France and play professionally once he is more physically ready and has more experience on the court. Remember, Giorgi didn't play 4 years for us either... He certainly wasn't a big time NBA prospect.
The prospect of playing in Europe is a lot more tantalizing for Europeans.

Two reasons (IMO):
1. Indiana had 17 turnovers, we had 9.
2. Indiana had 9 offensive boards, we had 14.

A turnover is a "lost" useful possession and an offensive board is a "gained" one - so in the end, we had 13 more "true" chances to score than they did. That's why it was a 15-point loss instead of a 30-point loss.

Not sure it is necessary to read all of the comments. we all witnessed a beatdown. Disappointed (probably not strong enough word) in FT shoot, defensive effort, defensive plan, adjustments, and offensive execution.

My question is why don't we play close games? Maryland 5, Texas 7, UCLA 9 and Virgina 9, and MSU 9 are the only games ending with 10 point or less outcome. The weekend to regroup....

Just about every loose ball either bounced right to IU or off our fingers OOB. Awful FT shooting. I can't count how many layups and bunnies we missed. A dozen it seems at least. On to the next game.

This team is a riddle. Wrapped in a mystery. Surrounded by an enigma.

IMO hawkins is very slow in his decision making and that impacts his driving and many of his passes (to the other team :( )

We were definitely getting hammered on our drives to the rim. I don't recall us ever driving and then dropping it off to somebody else at the rim. That is legal, right? Cuz TJD did it a couple times. /s

This board is getting a lot of free pub on the IU websites.

I saw the final score Illini BB post on Twitter last night and started reading the comments (major mistake, I know) and you would have thought they won the biggest game of their lives. IU fans are so delusional in thinking they are somehow superior and keep insisting, over and over, that it's not a rivalry. But they sure acted like they won the biggest rivalry game ever played. Really looking forward to playing them in Bloomington. We can't play any worse, right?

... and explains why we took seven more shots than IU and a lot more FTs.

Well, I hope whomever has been sick/dragging gets better/restored over the weekend and they come out Tuesday evening ready to do some serious damage.

But wait... it's not a rivalry to IU. The best people assured me of that yesterday afternoon pregame.

I have a feeling we are going to end up an 8 or 9 seed and be the team all the 1 seeds dread seeing in their bracket. This team is so bipolar. I don't know how you can beat a top 10 team and then look just awful against a mediocre team?
Perhaps 'cause you've played too many games in a short span and your players are tired and some are sick. And you have an inexperienced freshman center susceptible to getting schooled by a pre-season All-American [EDIT: who, by the way, your own All-American center completely embarrassed and emasculated on his home court last Feb and has incentive to prove something.]

I'll be surprised if we don't see a completely different Illini performance on Tuesday. It's a long grind of a season.
