Just one game. Need consistent non-inconsistency. Inter games as much as intra. Still, a reasonable hope for things to click on both ends halfway through his 2nd season now.

Agreed, there seems to be a rush by many on this board to use one game to extrapolate a "coming out party." Let's see if he can put 2-3 games together first.

Man, I hope he can be that.

He really needs to work on his footwork when driving, and with almost every aspect on defense. Building core strength and hours of close out drills this summer should help him immensely.

Offensively, his pull up from mid-range has always been a good shot for him, and glad to see him use it more. His three point stroke is a little streaky, but he has tremendous form..only problem is sometimes he pushes the ball out of his hand a little and causes his shot to be flat. He needs to learn how to finish at the rim and absorb contact, too many razzle-dazzle stuff going on. Needs to play tougher on both sides of the ball, but he has definitely shown improvement this year, especially last few games.

I feel like Jalen is rounding out his game a bit more this year, on both sides of the ball, and next year he will be really really good, like Luther's junior year.

Not seeing it.

Offensively JCL is still a 3pt specialist and he feasts on the bad to terrible defensive teams we face. Look at his stat lines from WVU, FSU MD and VCU & BYU to a lesser extent. Elite defensive (KenPom Top 30ish) teams generally hold JCL in check. Defensively he is improved over last season but that isn't saying much. Still grades out as a subpar individual defender.

The great teams know and have the ability to run JCL off the 3pt line and force him to defend w/o help to neutralize his overall impact on a game.
