My points honestly weren't that involved.Replying to your points...
Your Point 1)
It’s not about “standing up for a dude who throw ice and glass...” I don’t really care if it was a different player from a different team. The point was what are student sections making displays about. Whether it’s Jamar Smith “I L L D U I” or someone getting assaulted. Hopefully that clears it up for you...I said nothing to “stand up for a guy throwing ice and glass.” This seems like you jumping to conclusions and putting a bunch of words in someone’s mouth. Sometimes it really isn’t necessary to impute motives or meaning beyond what’s actually said.
Your Point 3) “And spare me the lecture on violence not being a way to solve anything.” Again, my point was simply in response to what one guy said, that the fan bases were going to do stuff with this incident. All I commented on was if it looks good or not if groups in the stands like Krush or other student groups, are making their display chortling about it. I don’t care if it’s someone from a different team...say the player had bones broken or their career was ended...is that appropriate for fans to be waving a banner about? The Francon poster is in good fun...laughing about someone’s injury or assault is different.
So again this is about what the fans do with it at the games...there was not any “lecture on violence not being a way to solve anything.” This is another example of you putting words in someone’s mouth and getting off topic onto things that interest you, for whatever reason. If that interests you fine but that’s not what I was talking about.
Thanks for enlightening me with your superior understanding of the way the world works. If you want to disagree with my particular points fine. But it seems like it will be futile to try any discussion with you if you assume any number of things beyond what I’m actually saying and be like, your position is x, y, and z, spare me this and that. We can try “so you’re saying A, so you’re saying B, etc” until the cows come home. I’m not trying to argue these other things you mentioned.
Bohannon has a reputation as a jerk and seemingly got his comeuppance. As he wasn't more seriously injured, I have no issue with him being mocked by any fan section. Same way as I have no issue with any other athlete being mocked for their bad behavior provided no one wound up with a serious injury or dead.
If he'd ended up with serious brain trauma, I'd agree it's in poor taste. That isn't the case here, so I don't agree with you that it's in poor taste (or all that different from Francon poster) to blow up a still of him on the floor of the bar and have it behind the basket when he's shooting free throws or behind the bench.
