Was just listening to Coach Groce on his radio show, he mentioned Kipper shoots the ball better than they thought. Sounds good since he's a physically mature kid who's known as a good defender.

And doesn't have Mav or Austin listed...
Kipper I hear will not be playing second fiddle next year, I think a non-PG line up will develop. Expect to see a line-up of JCL, Nunn, Kipper, Hill, and Finke. I'm not sure if Abrams can physically come back and I think Tate has peaked. I don't see Thorne coming back next year, if he is healthy he needs to play pro somewhere even if given a 5th year by NCAA.
I agree whole heartedly on a "PG" free line up. I'd like to see what a line up of Nunn, JCL, Hill, Finke and Black could do.

Well, everyone shoots better against us...
OK, maybe a little too close.
Oh YES, Yes... Yesssss!!!!! I'm ready for it now & since Black is hurt - insert DJ or AJ or .... I'm actually ok w/ K Lewis in there for good minutes, but let's start molding your lineup NOW...
Forgive me if I missed this in the thread, but when does Kipper start playing games?

There is some hope that because he barely had a bottle of water on the Tulane campus, he can get a waiver to play next Fall. However, the much more likely answer is that he must sit out a year, which is spring 2016 and fall 2016 and is not eligible until Braggin Rights.

Is there truth to this? Not disagreeing, this is just the first I've seen mentioning this as a possibility. I admit, I haven't been ridiculously in tune with the situation, I've just been expecting him to not suit up until December.
A few weeks ago, Groce said in a press conference that the Mizzou game was the latest that Kipper would be eligible to play, and then spoke in very vague terms about the unusual fact pattern here. So, there is some hope. But I've gotta say, even though Groce is a master salesman, he did not sound to my ears like he really believed he'd have Kipper before then.
IMHO, chances are very slim. Kipper attended summer classes for at least a few days. To the NCAA, summer means fall. If you attend fall classes on a basketball scholly at one school, your two semester sitout cannot begin until the next semester. That means he can play the day after the Fall 2016 semester ends. And that traditionally means against Missouri.
You know how they keep that bull in that little pen right before the rider gets on his back? Poor bull wants to get out but is forced to wait there....and wait there.....and wait there. Then, the door swings open and that bull gets rid of that rider in a millisecond. Yeah, that will be Kipper next fall into winter. (you can also picture Tom Crean as the rodeo clown too if you want)
Seriously UI should get some sort of bulk discount or a full time NCAA official for the spring/summer.
1. Tracy
2. Thorne
3. Kipper
4. Black (shouldn't be even a conversation but this is the NCAA)
5. Who knows what else.
