What about two million years?
Well obviously, yeah, if he had two million…

Seriously, it will be a heck of an accomplishment for Kofi to carve out a respectable role on a NBA team.
Joel Embiid was arguably the best player in the league this year. No one ever wondered if Joel was worth a draft pick. It was whether he was worth the 1st pick. He came into the league and immediately shot 35% from 3 & nearly 80% from the FT line.
Kofi should not be trying to be Embiid. How about Andre Drummond? Be big. Control the paint, rebound, Take a 3 point shot about once a month, Play for 10+ years, and make a huge pile of money.

Kofi will find a spot in the NBA. There is no teaching someone how to be 7ft, 285lbs of pure muscle, and physical dominance in the paint. Someone will find a way to use a double-double I'm sure.

I know Garza can shoot better, but if there is a place for him in the NBA, then there is definitely a place for Kofi to find success in some capacity.

Not that Kofi will be anywhere close to Shaq in the NBA, but I still had to compare the combine numbers out of curiosity... Shaq was bigger and his vertical was crazy.

Kofi - 6'11" tall, 293 pounds, 29.5" standing vertical leap, 32.5" max vertical leap, 7'4.25" wingspan, 8.2% body fat

Shaq - 7'1" tall, 303 pounds, 35" vertical leap (max?), 7'7" wingspan, 12.2% body fat

Good data and confirmed what I always thought. Shaq was taller, longer and more athletic. Between the height difference, wingspan difference and vertical difference, there’s like an 8-10 inch difference in maximum height that Shaq can reach over Kofi.

More like 5.25 inches for wingspan and vertical. Head height is moot as far as reach. Except you would need to know actual vertical reach rather than wingspan. The latter includes the chest measurement.

I’m rooting for Kofi to get drafted, but until I see him starting to rise in a number of mock drafts, not just an outlier, I think it’s unlikely. His realistic chance looks like G-league with a chance at earning a 2 way, which I think he will do.

There's too many teams that need Bigs. But I guess we'll ultimately have to wait and see. Teams would be foolish not to sign Kofi!

I think it remains to be seen if there is a place in the NBA for Garza. I think it's more likely than not that he's no longer in the NBA in 5 years.
Definitely agree. I guess I meant if Garza could find a place to and (currently) then Kofi will definitely be on a NBA roster if he wants to be next season.

Wonder about fan support if Bulls take another Illini. Certainly need a big and maybe could sign him after draft if he isn’t taken. If Kofi is successful there would be huge for Illini fans.

I think he can play the same role that Kevon Looney does for the warriors, or daniel theis does for the Celtics. The difference being he is bigger and faster than both these examples.

In 2 million years we will all be dead. Kofi's game does remind me of Lopez a bit but he might be a bit stronger and not as good of a shooter. I think the key for Kofi is developing at least a decent 3 pointer so he doesn't need to be under the rim and clog the offensive lane

Both of these guys in Bulls uniforms would be a great recruiting tool for the U of I....defenitely give the Illini an extra presence in the Chicago area....young HS recruits would have to look at BU and the Illini staff with a great deal of respect for what they have done to help these two achieve their goals and dreams

It's not that simple. Give Garza some credit. He could step outside and shoot. Kofi clearly wants to be and no matter how hard he works it's not up to him. Although hard work can certainly improve his chances. I think he is doing better than most expected, myself included. I hope someone takes a chance on him.

Kofis biggest area he most improve is his lateral quickness and defend quicker guys effectively. Despite what many say in here not all bigs shoot threes. Kofi can make a lot of money being an elite rebounder, setting screens, and making a impact in the defensive end. Kofi would not be selected to shoot threes. If he can develop a mid range game and one day stretch out further then awesome. He needs to walk before he can run. In other words hit from mid range and improve his lateral quickness and not be a liability defensively when guys switch .

Garza had somewhat of a breakout game at end of season against Philly (April)...20 10 and 4. I recall Garza and Kofi got along and had friendly mutual respect. Didn't like playing Garza...but respected his "dog" mentality and tenacious work.

Kofi has similar qualities, much bigger though.

I watched Looney for a few times only but I feel like he is faster than Kofi. Want to know if you guys agree or not.

I think so too. Theis comp might be achievable though. I swear I’ve seen Looney on Doncic after a switch this series, and he played pretty good D on him. Looney is a better passer too.
