The way I look at this is that this "new age" has finally hit our program, just happened to be in the same year. The Miller ordeal coming out of nowhere, now this. The floodgates have been opened for these types of occurrences and like anything else, coaches, fans, players will adjust and all will learn to play the game. None of us have any clue what the ultimate outcome will be, but even if we lose this one, we'll win the next one where another team/fan base feels the lack of loyalty due to the almighty dollar.
I think that we're going to get to the point where it will make absolutely no sense for every kid to enter the portal and be re-recruited. There's no downside to it. Next year, if you're Curbelo.....why not do this? Test the NBA waters, if you're not where you want to be, enter the portal, make some money and pick your choice of any school in the country. Why not?
This is the Pandora's box that has been opened, just as well play in the gray area, roll with the punches and get in the game.
Just as well jump fully into bed with the High School and AAU coaches and make the deals(whatever that means at this point) that need to be made to be successful. I don't even know what's legal vs what's not right now. While the NCAA has always been useless, now they're pretty much powerless.
