Loren Tate - Kofi will announce his return to Illinois tomorrow. This has been in the works for a week. 🤞 - Could be the kiss of death. He also predicted EJ Liddell would transfer to Illinois a few months ago.

Cup is still securely in place until I hear it from Kofi's mouth.

The idea that Kentucky wasn't/isn't that interested in a 2nd Team All-American...

Exactly, because they have Oscar and high hopes on a prospect that has a chance to be as good as Kofi

I know someone had mentioned that Kofi’s assists actually dropped between FR and SO years and I think I just realized why: Feliz granduated. As a freshman, I would bet at least half of Kofi’s assists came after Feliz fed Kofi in the post, Feliz’s man doubled Kofi, then Feliz cut right below the free throw line where Kofi would dump it to Feliz for a floater. Towards the end of the season it felt like they were good for one of those per game at least.
My guess is a second year Curbelo will be > a second year (for us) Feliz, love them both though
Hope Kofi thinks that as well.

Loren - my Man! He's never let me down.

I listened to the interview, and Loren confirms my earlier thoughts that the "new" Freshmen are going to have a difficult time seeing the floor after the holidays. I sure hope a couple of them are dead-eye shooters from beyond the arc --- so we can utilize the inside/outside game. As Loren said, they'll be transferring if they don't get some tick.

I've kept quiet lately as, more than usual, I have nothing useful to contribute.

However, this overdub of Baby Come Back is just killer and made my July (which in DC is unrelentingly hot, humid and miserable.) Takes me back to fall '77 when it came out as I was in sixth grade. Oh, Rhonda S., where are you now?

+100 cocktails to you, sir.

It should be expected every year to see transfer for the future.

I get the vibe Goode is a 4 year Illini, no matter what. The others, I'm not sure. They gotta be thinking "why are we they out there getting 4☆ guards next year?"

I expect 2+ transfers each year from here until eternity in today's system both as a country (we have raised them to leave if its tough, or they don't get a trophy, or someone outworked them ) and NCAA operations.

All those negative reasons of course. But there's also just the positive reason of kids figuring out where they belong in the College Basketball world. No shame in shooting for the stars and then finding out you're just going to come up short for playing time and deciding you'd like to go to the Valley or MAC.

Recruiting is fluid. College careers are fluid.

Or possibly the other way around...Start off at a mid-major if you're unlikely to get playing time first year at a major college in this period of super-seniors, then transfer to a major for the next season IF you've proven yourself good enough...(Not saying our guys should do that...) :ROFLMAO:
