All jokes aside, part of me wonders if Hutch is more of a reason to transfer than Belo. Believe he had a tweet early in the summer about how good Hutch was. Maybe saw the writing on the wall he may have been second in line for the lead guard “Ayo” role next year. Sure hope so!
I'm gonna say this is true...because I want it to be true.

Right. How about we see him play in a division 1 game before putting him in the starting lineup.

Did we wait for Ayo, Kofi, Adam Miller to play D1 games before we started them?

Practice is where you earn your playing time first.

If Kofi comes back, a top 10 ranking seems reasonable. He's an elite defender and rebounder, and not many teams can match up with him on the offensive end. And with Curbelo, it's not like we're talking about the Groce days where the guards would struggle to get the ball into the paint to feed the bigs.

I don't know anything about his future, but my guess is he moves on. Sill, it's fun to think about another season high up the rankings.

Minor nit. Kofi is more of a deterrent in the paint/rim protector. He can be taken advantage of in space and in p/r situations. If he was a consistent defender in those situations I think he’d be a guaranteed draft pick because even though he only scores 2s, because he’s really efficient offensively other than the line.

There's a lot of talk about Kofi staying if Hutch declares for the draft. Kofi doesn't want to play in Hutch's shadow. Also, Chin and Antigua might stay, but only if Hutch asks them to.

Some sportswriters now predicting that Hutch skips NBA and goes straight to HOF. Worried about injuries impacting his post-basketball film career.

Were Ayo, Kofi, and Ace top 50 recruits? (hint: yes)

Was Hutcherson in the top 50? top 150? What D1 offers did he have coming out of high school?

I'm not saying he's trash. I'm saying let's see how he, as an unproven recruit, shows in a single division 1 game before we crown him.

High school rankings are worth more to you than practice performance?

High schools rankings are at least vetted by tons of impartial scouts who get paid to do this, and are based on competitive games. They are by no means perfect, but I think it's fair to put a little more stock in those than reports of practice performance which are seen by a limited number of people, not on publicly available tape, and are practice rather than competitive play. By no means am I saying Hutch is not good, or that his supposedly great practice performances are meaningless, just that we don't actually have a lot of reliable, vetted info on how good he is.

This is a reasonable take, its not too long ago that Alex Legion and Mark Smith were the second comings of Reggie Miller and Jason Kidd based on practice reports.

I mean, in fairness, I can't think of any players at 7' and 300 lbs that can lock down anybody on the perimeter. That's not just a lottery pick, that's all NBA athleticism. I'm not sure he would've ever set foot on campus if he had that in his toolbox.
