Simply hiring an agent no longer causes a player to forfeit any remaining eligibility. Rule changed a few years ago.

Emmert looks like he should be on the great series ""True Blood ""

Understand the hiring part but what about agent payments?

Assuming Kofi has hired an NCAA-certified agent, it looks like Kofi can utilize training services provided through his agent, but he needs to pay the "going rate for such services" out of his own pocket.

Source (see pg. 7, q. #8)

Does anyone else remember any Illini winners wearing #5? Maybe a 3rd round pick, olympic gold medalist? Led the greatest comeback in Illini history in the Elite Eight against Arizona? #5 is a damn fine number too.
Try 3rd OA.

Lol what a sham all this is. At least it’s getting better for the players. Hard to truly envision what CBB might look like in just a few years.

What are the chances Kofi comes back to College and transfers to Kentucky?🙁🙈🙈

MY GOD Kofi. These are the tools that could vault him into an NBA starting lineup one day.

That’s exactly what he needs to work on to fit into the NBA center role nowadays… if he can develop that and make those at a decent clip… sheesh, that’s one scary opponent! (Not saying he wasn’t scary in college)

I was expecting Kofi to come back until I saw this. Now I expect a team to draft him in the 2nd round on potential.

He was doing this last year too in the offseason. I think the potential is there. Right now I would say it is a coin flip. If he came back and showed he could do that he would be a first round pick next year though.
showing He can actually do this in a game situation would greatly improve his stock.

Right, I think he needs to SHOW this in college and then he's a no-doubt lottery pick

The big question then becomes would the Illini and its offense allow him to show this in games. I’m sure it could be worked into the offense, but how quick would BU be to tell him to get under basket after a few misses? And will teammates be finding him in spots where he can demonstrate those skills? It will be interesting to see if he comes back, and if he does will he be able to incorporate those elements into his offensive game successfully enough to move him higher in the draft.

Well that's the rub. Anyone can make open jumpers in a training session. If he can't make these shots in a college game why would NBA scouts think he can do it in the NBA? They are smart enough to not make decisions off of a workout video.

I will be really surprised to see Kofi back. Giorgi leaving tipped that balance imo. Two All Americans short with a new staff is a steep hill but they will be different but still BIG competitive.

So do you think that Kofi should come back to college to show scouts that he CAN hit those kind of shots? I’m all for that!

Yea not sure fans would be thrilled watching Kofi putting up shots from that distance, especially if his percentage is low, and would be hammering the coaching staff as to why he wasn't down low grabbing rebounds and stuffing them back in the basket

If we can somehow snag a guy like tre Mitchell that gives Kofi a lot more room to showcase himself rather than do what's best for the team so to speak

I think the tape (Kofi) says a thousand words to scouts whether he does it in the games next year or not. It shows potential. Meyers Leonard was 1 for 12 from three in college and that didn’t hurt him. I think the extra year to mature his game and show improved passing and kick out of the double / triple teams would be huge. Plus, having fletch to push with the lateral movement quickness would be a big help.
