The staff organization will be interesting to watch.

Even being up in the suburbs now, I may consider buying season tickets! When I am not in law school...and I'm actually making money...when we have a couple of years of recruiting under our belts.... But this is YUUUUUUGE!!!

Also glad to see people are rallying for Team Lovie. At first it looked like enthusiasm was down, but this is a great day.

The key hire will be offensive coordinator. If I recall he went through four offensive coordinators during his last several years with the Bears and none of them, including mike martz, had too much success

Lovie's staff will be pretty amazing, considering the Cubit, Beckman, Zook, Turner, et al staffs.

Good day. I was expecting "Illinois taking a look at Western Illinois Special Teams Coach for Head Coaching position." based on our recent history.

I have nothing constructive here. Only conjecture. I just think JW didn't want to be conversing with the Jim Calhoun Sound-a-like contest winner for the next 12 months and decided to pull the plug.

What has he coached? Nothing.

True. Don't know if has any interest and don't know if Lovie's seriously considering him. Can you imagine him walking into a recruit's house? I think they'd listen.

Considering Lovie's age, I am also conjecturing that Lovie's purpose for the next 5 years will be to get the steady influx of 4 and 5 star talent in here as best he can and then cede HC to whomever he and JW decide to cede it to at that time.

Sure. "Hey Coach Url. Did you really think Jay Cutler was a %#$$*? Count me in for your linebacking corps." Probably not gonna happen.

Hopefully the OC or DC, no?

I don't know. I find myself having reservations about Lovie. Kind of like Dungy not being able to put an offense together while at Tampa, then letting the offense be themselves while at Indy, I think Lovie is going to have to give up control of the offense. Other than understanding the O schemes at a high level. Whomever he brings in at OC, that OC needs to have the kahones to tell Lovie that he wants to run it his way, and that's the end of it.

Lovie was as hands off as you could be when in the NFL with the offense fwiw

I would bet a significant amount of $ that Whitman will have some involvement in staff hirings
