What a great day! As an Edwardsville High School and Illini alum, I'm absolutely stoked to be able to see Mark Smith leading the Illini back to prominence. Edwardsville is an Illini town, and somehow I had a good feeling we'd win out in the end. We've had a few football players play for the Illini but couldn't remember the last EHS basketball player to don the orange and blue (wasn't around for the Jackson/Vaughn years).


And I'll forgive all of you that lambasted our admin and AD ;)

Wow, it's been so long that an Illini head coach could close the deal on such a great prospect I still can't grasp what just happened. Watching him turn around with Illini gear was such an amazing event.
