After we publicly complain, and we absolutely should, given how we were jobbed at Purdue and the potential vindictiveness of B1G officials, is it possible to be treated even worse by a B1G officiating crew?

Why do you think they aren't being called? $$$$$$$$$$$When the blind mice make 4 calls that terrible it should make someone in the B1G office take notice ......I would sign a petition as a B1G and Illini fan to make it mandatory that officials receive disciplinary actions against them and make them forfeit their paychecks for any game when they make calls this bad.....
Also , they should have monthly eyesight exams and attend mandatory continuing education of the friggin rules so we don't see so much huddling up and taking forever to make a call on obvious fouls committed...........Call them into the commissioner's office and go over disputed calls they made and ask why they screwed up on such obvious flagging plays........
SOMETHING HAS GOT TO BE DONE HERE AS IT MAKES A GAME SUCH A JOKE WHEN THERE ARE SO MANY INEPT OFFICIALS MAKING BLATANT WRONG CALLS OR NOT MAKING OBVIOUS FOULS CALLED......................
Again , I'm pissed just as bad as BB is ..........................................jmho
They aren’t going to sue the league. But if you knew what I know…this isn’t the last we will here from BB about what’s going on in the B1G offices and with the way games are officiated.
I’d like to see a fine B1G enough to capture national media attention, prompting media to play short video clips of the egregious calls/non-calls to explain the fine. Josh could then give Bert a fat raise, far exceeding the fine, a win-win.Doesn't he know he's supposed to keep his mouth shut and continue to collect that ever increasing big fat juicy pay check.
I know that, but it makes me feel a little better to vent and Santa is coming soon so let me dream.Never ever ever going to happen. Illinois is thanking their lucky stars to be a part of the B10 revenue sharing tribe. We may complain hear and there but that’s as far as it will go.
So $$$$$$ still is the root of all evil........And ethics and fair play takes a back seat to $$$$$$$..........OK , then we should call it the B$G 10...................Why do you think they aren't being called? $$$$$$$$$$$
I have said for years that the BIG has crews/officials that are assigned to games they want to make sure turn out with the "right" result. There is way too much money involved is college sports. If the blatant missed calls aren't obvious enough, think about all the times they go to video review and still make the wrong call. Impossible for anyone to be that incompetent. Find me a high school ref that would've screwed up that many times. I mean, we have a BIG basketball ref who was fired as a policeman TWICE for corruption.
If they apologize they're admitting that there was an issue. Once they admit there's an issue they'll be under pressure to do something about it, and IMO that just isn't going to happen. As others have posted more eloquently than I, there is a $tatu$ quo to be maintained.Has there been any word from the Big Ten office in regards to the officiating of our game? I am slightly surprised they haven't come out with an apology.
in the biggest passive aggressive move ever, it'd be hilarious to go out and kneel every down the next time we play them. if they want to make it a farce, let's make it a farceNever ever ever going to happen. Illinois is thanking their lucky stars to be a part of the B10 revenue sharing tribe. We may complain hear and there but that’s as far as it will go.
Correction: bribe - there, fixed it for youNever ever ever going to happen. Illinois is thanking their lucky stars to be a part of the B10 revenue sharing tribe. We may complain hear and there but that’s as far as it will go.
Then let the NCAA address the root cause. Distribute the CFP revenue pool evenly to all members. There, radically reduced incentive for B$G to cheat its Western Ghetto schools out of hard-won victories on the playing field. The B1G can't risk not getting a team in the play off. The money the conference gets from that is too good to pass up
Well , it's looks like the winner next week between scUM - osu is in the playoffs............So , it was too b$g of a risk for our game to be called fairly andThe B1G can't risk not getting a team in the play off. The money the conference gets from that is too good to pass up
Can’t leave. It’s a conundrum. We benefit from the money too. But have to find a way to get the money out of determining results and just let the chips fall where they may. Just egregious stuff happened Saturday that refs can’t miss. What if we just left the B10? I mean i dont know how things could really ever truly improve for us in football with the conference clearly playing favorites with certain schools.
I get that it is slightly bigger of an issue leaving the conference from a basketball stand point. But maybe ol’ syracuse jimmy B had a point. We might have a better chance at a natty playing in one of the tourny dominating conferences.
The funniest possible outcome of all this would be for Michigan to lose to OSU, for us to sneak into the title game, and then knock off Michigan resulting in zero bids for the B1G.The B1G can't risk not getting a team in the play off. The money the conference gets from that is too good to pass up
The refs didn’t miss the egregious stuff, their calls WERE the egregious stuff (live and worse, on replay). The rest was just football. Can’t leave. It’s a conundrum. We benefit from the money too. Illinois played a great game and could have won. The refs did not cost Illinois the game. Those who saw the 15 yard pass interference call at the end as wrong need to have their eye checked. Yes Colston Loveland should have been called for offensive pass interference for blocking before the pass was released but refs often miss such a particular call. Check the video to see the numerous holds from the Illinois side. Sorry but Illinois does not play clean pass defense. Now Michigan is a run first team and was missing one of its running back duo for the whole game and its Heisman trophy finalist Blake Corum for the second half. It was also missing its tight end. It was also missing its top edge defense person Mike Morris In fact Michigan was missing 30% of its starters for the game. In short Michigan was playing with one arm tied behind its back for the second half. Granted, their receivers dropped some balls and their quarterback did not have a good game, but they made some gutsy fourth down calls near the end and pulled the game out. Illinois payed the best game of their season and wanted it for their coach whose mother passed. Bit when push came to shove they could not stop Michigan in the manner that Michigan stopped them at the end to get the ball back. Say what you like, that is the mark of a championship team.
The missed calls, failed reviews, and some questionable calls pretty much encompasses the egregious stuff that happened Saturday. No reason to single out the calls that they did make, as the call they didn't make single handedly kept Michigan's game winning drive alive. The refs didn’t miss the egregious stuff, their calls WERE the egregious stuff (live and worse, on replay). The rest was just football.
For anyone who doesn't think this was offensive pass interference (I've encountered some non-Illini fans who don't think so, think it was questionably close, or aren't sure), the following is from the 2022 NCAA Football Rulebook. I had to look up the definition of "neutral zone" and it is two parallel lines extending to the sideline, one from the pre-snap nose of the football and the other from the pre-snap tail of the football (on this play it's the 45 yard line stripe):
