I think the meme represents the program as a whole. The whole thing is on fire and there is just no sense of urgency.

That might have been true under Thomas, but I dont believe that to be the case under Whitman. This staff will be gone after this season. The poor-playing upperclassmen will be gone too.

Get the seniors off the floor and start the press with 7 minutes to go and you might have had a chance.

Maybe not, but I think there are exterior forces that are tying Whitman's hands to some degree. The good news is, Whitman didn't hire or extend Groce, so his hands are mostly clean of this.

And so will half of the class of 2017 recruits...

Not if you make the right hire. In JW we trust.

Even if we lose a couple of them the change has to be made. This staff appears to have given up more so than the players.

"Don't get me wrong - in an ideal world, Tracy keeps shooting the ball well, we make the tournament, Groce somehow still gets fired, Tom Crean poops his pants on live television, and everyone goes home happy. But until then, I will haunt your TA-optimism for all of eternity."

"You can't assume that by burying some wide-open 3s against SEMO and Detroit, Tracy is all of the sudden a 3pt threat."

"People hopping on the "Tracy is shooting 50% from 3, he's so much better now, he should be our SG, etc." bandwagon might be optimistic."
