I am 65 and retired. I spent my whole career workiing for the highest bidder. No regrets.

Well. We can blame our donors for not forking over money then. New age.

I personally feel throwing teammates and your friends under the bus while doing it is rather lame.

But so be it,

Yeah, I have no problem with kids shopping around for the best offer. If the rumors are true of him signing or giving a meaningful commitment then bailing, then I feel differently.

Playing my gig tonight in Siesta Key, and the venue puts that game on the big screen. Got to catch glimpses along the way, and it seemed the second half was our downfall. It’s kinda hard playing and singing a gig while the game is showing in front of you, but the constant stream of 20 something beauties just couldn’t be denied. I gave my best, knowing that if I were twenty years younger I would still be too old for these younguns.

But I should know better than to dip into the cesspool of hot takes in the game thread. What a bunch of 🐎💩 hot takes. On to the next game. Hope some of you have some real hangovers tomorrow to get over.

Agreed on all points. For some reason, Brad did not think Tre was a fit. He sat him for a few games with no minutes last year for some reason. Seems to happen to one player or another every year with BU.
This. Every year Brad has a player that he inexplicably plays over another player/s that are for more deserving. As sure as the sun is set to rise you can count the every season Brad will do this. Last year it was Hummer over Morez and Riley.

Still think Morez is a traitor and a sellout but he brought it tonight and was cold blooded. He did not let the crowd impact his gameplay. He's a good player and our fanbase is not happy that he sold his soul for the almighty dollar but that's college athletics for you.
Maybe he sold his soul because he only played 15 mpg and sat on the bench behind Ben?

Jeez alright. Nobody likes losing, but that’s nature of this sport. Every power conference team loses.

Was the losing just more acceptable bc it was Trent and DW and it was 4 years in the past? Thats the point. Your argument is we need guys like that but they got blown out by worse teams and in worse moments, while hanging banners with worse records.

I agree 2-4 is unacceptable, but when 3 of those losses are OT and another against a team clearly a tier above us I can accept it as long as March we get to where we should which is the Sweet 16.
Don’t remember Trent and DW giving up a 24 point lead to a team they were favored to win by 10 ever.

Michigan gave Illinois a thorough butt whipping and outplayed Illini in every aspect. Illini looked unable and unwilling to contend and defend.

Really, not ever huh?

Because Trent’s freshman year, we went 14-18.

But at least his sophomore we improved to… 12-21.

We already have more B1G wins this year than Trent’s freshman and sophomore years combined.

I loved those teams too but come on, man.

Which games did they give up 24 point leads? Interested to know

I despise it sounds like we're trying to taint Trent and DMW's legacy.... but with how bogus certain narratives are, it just calls for it.
I’m sure Trent would tell you himself, as he did after Nebraska:

Just because Trent and Damonte and company were gritty tough players who “refused to lose” didn’t mean they were perfect or never lost. They had their fair share of clunkers, too.

Also…that 2024 team that won a BTT, and made the E8…they blew an 8 point lead with 45 seconds to go against Penn effing State.

The point is…basketball is a crazy game. Even great teams drop some games.

Brad's refrain in the postgame presser was leadership. Most years, the teams in the FF have a "coach on the court". That individual must be able to verbally lead.

Do you seriously think Boz is that guy?

Izzo and Painter have had players like that and they've been able to taste the final weekend. Deron was that guy for Bruce.

Guards who lead solid teams usually play the first weekend in April.

Also, I believe it is rare that a team ranked where we are defensively gets to the FF.

They weren’t on teams good enough to get a lead like that in the first place. At least not often. The revisionist history with Trent and DW are ridiculous at this point. We all love those two but the fact is they were very limited players. They never even got past the first weekend, hell they never even had 12 game winning streak. You act they were all time greats.

After a very long drive back home, and after quickly downing a half-pint/smoking an infused pre-roll...yeah...I'm still pissed off. It sucks to say, but...scUM is obviously on another level. I really should have sold my ticket for $1300 when I had the chance to. I'll still enjoy all of these "juicy" takes when I wake up :ROFLMAO:

Haven’t bet in a year but threw some on UM..part emotional hedge and part it feels like Brad hasn’t won one of the historical “orange jacket at home” games in awhile. That said, we will get an elite 8 this year I’m pretty sure of it. Wish we had that Malachi smith type bulldog to aid Kylan and punch back defensively against some of the more athletic and physically demanding teams we will face down the stretch

Just because you have no regrets doesn't mean others don't have regrets. Going to the highest bidder doesn't always mean that the grass is greener on the other side. All in all, Morez is still a traitor and a sellout who would've had a major role if he stuck around. An Illinois kid who had years of invested relationships with the coaching staff and his family/group convinced him to sellout to the almighty dollar. The vitriol he has gotten is well deserved as he's getting paid handsomely so with being paid comes with consequences. His decision proved he has no loyalty to years of invested relationships built up. His loyalty is to the almighty dollar

Here's the full game.

46:00 felt like our last glimmer of hope.

The two moments in the second half where it really felt like they were gonna run away:

42:00

Really bad turnover. What followed is a bunch of lackluster possessions and easy shots for Michigan. But we got it down to 5.

The second would be 51:25

That was a horrible offensive possession. Should've gone inside immediately.

What followed was a bunch of missed threes and layups on the other end for Michigan.

Tonight kinda went the way I expected it to. Two good offensive teams but one of them has a more physical and athletic presence and plays better defense. Also one of the few times we will see a team with as much size as we have. My concern is this - analytics may say we are still a top offensive team (I’m not the stats expert so I’ll defer all of those conversations to others) but the eye test makes me feel like we are wearing out. We rely heavily on two guys playing this kind of competitive schedule for the first time and it seems like Mirk and Keaton may be wearing down. Kylan is not shooting like he was before the injury and although Andre isn’t a consistent performer we don’t seem to be getting any sense that he can take over a game like he has a few times this year.
We’re crazy good when hitting on all cylinders and a threat to just about anyone when that happens - it’s just not happening right now. Even so - this is easily a top 8-15 team in the country. Hoping we can get it rolling again in the next couple weeks. Not much “learning” or “get healthy” time left.
ILL…
