6 games in two weeks. 5 on the road.

We'd miss a ton of classes. Let's also look at the mental health standpoint. This is our guys' team, their schedule and their college experience. Would they want to play 11 games in 22 days? And then from a health standpoint, I'm not sure if it would be smart because of the long layoff. Rushing and playing that many games in a short amount of time doesn't give the human body time to recover.

“At the end of the day, we're not machines. We are humans. That's not the type of pressure that I want to put on my student-athletes at this time.
Juwan Howard, the hypocrite, said this about his team, not caring that he was causing other teams to face the same, if not worse, conditions. What a tool. I’ve always disliked scUM because of their arrogance, which intensified to hatred in 1989. I would think Brad would have a statement to make about this situation and the B1G’s favoritism...

I think BU has already commented on this....not sure which reporter ask if BU had been in contact or had any input with conference on re-scheduling ...his response was something like....I learned quickly I don't have any say or influence in the scheduling....which I'm not sure I totally believe....but it could mean, I've had discussions with the conference and put in my thoughts, but the conference didn't exactly see things the way I do.....so my answer is I don't have any influence or say in the rescheduling.....just gonna play the games they tell us to play and focus on the next game at hand....try to win each and every game and get better .....just saying....maybe I'm reading too much between the lines

the only person that should be talking to the league about scheduling is Josh , and it should be done privately with no comment to the press or public .

If we beat Michigan and don't finish above them in the standings, I'll understand folks feeling upset that they played fewer games.

But both teams close the season playing the exact same number of games, spread over the exact same number of days ... which leaves me perplexed why some folks in this thread are so upset about the scheduling situation.

Those are 3 easy opponents though. So it's not an advantage for them to not play them
The point is they don’t have the grueling travel schedule to have to play them- why should Michigan not have to play games every other day like other teams given they are the reason teams like us are having to do it- it’s not competitively fair

Michigan and Northwestern both have games on the 21st and 25th why not have them play their makeup game on the 23rd? It’s very fishy by the Big Ten

I’m wondering if the fact MI has a 2 game lead is meaningful to the argument in not needing to reschedule.

15-2 has a winning percent of 0.882

17-3 has a winning percent of 0.850

So, if Illinois wins out and MI only loses to IL then MI leads in winning percent. That’s probably the worst case scenario for the B10 office.

If OSU wins tomorrow scenario obviously changes.

Closing this thread now. Today (Feb. 21st), let's talk Mich-Ohio St & the Big Ten standings in the 2/21 Games thread. After that, continue with the Big Ten discussion in the pinned pregame thread or the Illini Basketball thread.
