Lest we forget or overlook

Brad not calling a timeout on our possession with the chance to win with the clock expiring was a mistake. The big reason why is because KJ isn't on the floor. May have been better to call that timeout to get the guys reorganized.
If Tomi has his hands up and is ready for the dish, it's a dunk. We were operating very well offensively. No need to let Izzo set his defense. I'm fine with no TO.

Considering how poor we have looked on set plays this year out of timeout, he would have been criticized for calling timeout as well. I personally liked not allowing MSU to set their defense, especially with our best player on the bench (and the way we looked the previous possessions).

I suggest you take a look at this one. The refs won the game - very simple. While I agree we can’t have this happening, there needs to be accountability - it works both ways. Maybe if the league actually used technology the way it should be, we’d eliminate this stuff. It’s 2025 - enough having humans intentionally influence games.

Yea, KJ's 3rd and 4th fouls were head scratchers
Los Angeles Lakers What GIF by NBA
This conference has not won a National Championship in 24 seasons. I believe the !!!! show that is Big Ten refereeing is the main reason. Our teams are set up for failure every year because these kids expect tournament games to be called like regular Big Ten games. There is something going on here that does not pass the smell test.

Offense was stagnant without him. Do not fault rolling the dice
I mean letting a guy foul out is better than saving fouls for him not to play, but I think Brad should have went to bat for him with the officials way earlier.

He should have gotten teed up after the 3rd or 4th foul on Kasparis. People may say it doesn't matter but a coach going off and making a scene will absolutely change how the officials call the remainder of the game.

Well, I agree the shooting wasn't good enough. Missed some free throws by guys that generally shoot a high percentage.
Honestly it's more the shot selection than the shooting.

Yeah they didn't shoot well but why are so many 3pt shots step backs by guys shooting below 30% or just pull up contested 3's where you put no pressure on the defense to make a play?

Attack the rim, put pressure on the defense, and take the rhythm kick out 3s.

Losing in East Lansing is not the end of the world. Loved the fight we showed late. We didn't make enough threes or free throws to overcome the loss of KJ. Still lots to be encouraged by with these young guns.
Well said. USC and NU games hurt waaaayy more. Refs were awful and we were still right there. Couple of free throws and a different decision by Bam on that last drive and we could have pulled it out. Frustrating but not unexpected. Still think this can be a final four team.

Brad should periodically mix it up and play a zone defense when the situation merits it. Especially when you play teams like Michigan State and USC that are poor at shooting the 3. You can also hide a player better (like today with Kasparis) who gets in foul trouble.

Yep, B10 officiates differently and it costs us every year. I posted the same thing on their X page earlier. They don't want to listen unless it's about a TV deal

I’d much rather watch todays game be physical than the free throw contest the TN game was

You can't hide a player who never earned three of those fouls. They'll find a way
