I thought Bam could have hit TI out of the PNR before his drive to the basket. The over the backboard rule, oddly enough, says that a shot over the backboard is legal if it's a fan shaped backboard, but not a rectangular one.

The USC game is the one that will haunt in the end. Not this game.
I still hope Brad goes off during presser
Probably. But we have a chance to beat the 1st place team on their home floor and avoid falling 3 games behind them. That was my main point.

Did we though? I think the players benefitted from playing a game like this, but we still have coaching weaknesses which have perpetuated seasons.

We love to complain about the officiating and how some teams always get the calls, but that’s on the coaches. KJs foul trouble is ultimately on Brad. He needs to manage these games and protect his guys. Calling it out in the postgame does nothing. He should’ve gone berserk and got T’d up in the 1st half if needed before it was too late and saved KJ.

It’s not personal, and I usually don’t criticize players, but Humrichous getting 36 minutes cost us the game. He was totally lost on D, and just stood around on offense with no effort rebounding. Anyone who recorded the game and wants to bleed from their eyeballs just rewatch it following Humrichous every play. The fact that Brad tolerated that cost us the win.

First loss where it really didn't bother me since I think they showed they are the better team. And will be the next time they play MSU.
Someone mentioned earlier that Boswell shoots when he should pass and passes when he should shoot. I agree with that. 0-4 from 3 today and that's not good.

Did anyone notice Izzo putting both hands on the shoulders of one of the refs early in the game? Next thing you know KJ is sitting on the bench. Probably a coincidence, but I don't think any coach has any business touching a ref and talking to him like he's giving a lesson.

Bad last three games actually. I said it in the pregame, need him to get back to playing well. Didn't happen today.
No nights off, it's called being consistently good, night in, night out!! Not sometimes or here and there.....just did not see any plays by him and he played the entire game.

I didnt see what caused the T outside of his frustration. I'm shocked he didn't push for one earlier in the game, but how Izzo can behave the way he does and doesn't get hit with one is head shaking
No it is not. But he conveniently changed it to “hitting the backboard” during the pause. His original call was that he shot it over the backboard.
Was it reviewed? Didn’t see that done? Did I miss it?

We showed great toughness and tenacity in this game- almost overcame the home court officials calls that Izzo gets at a ridiculous rate.
Positives:
1. Confidence for Riley, Morez
2. Hopefully BU sees that playing Ivisic and Morez together at times is a good thing
Negatives:
1. KJ has to play smarter- especially on that 5th foul.
2. Ivisic is too soft and not challenging shots at the rim like he should.
3. Ben is overall playing better and love his occasional bully ball over smaller defenders but once again he missed some crucial box-outs in the second half
4. These losses are going to pigeonhole us into a 4 or 5 seed and, if we get that far, having to play a #1 seed again in the elite 8 matchup rather than in a final 4( again if we get that far). I think we certainly have that capability.

AP voters are mainly made up of people who don’t watch basketball, don’t look at stats, and don’t understand how rankings work. We should be using actual technology - a blend of various metrics instead of random clowns to vote who think they know basketball.

No joke. I hate to be that guy complaining about refs but we got jobbed by the refs this game. They weren’t going to allow KJ to play.

Love the fight our team displayed, but frustrated with Underwoods Technical and also I feel like we should have called a timeout with 20 sec to go.
The T was on the bench, not Brad

I mean letting a guy foul out is better than saving fouls for him not to play, but I think Brad should have went to bat for him with the officials way earlier.

He should have gotten teed up after the 3rd or 4th foul on Kasparis. People may say it doesn't matter but a coach going off and making a scene will absolutely change how the officials call the remainder of the game.

For the people going psycho this entire thread about the reffing, if Brad didn't follow suit....

I don't care how bad the calls were, you HAVE to play through it. If people weren't watching the game and only followed the thread.....they didn't see ONE comment about one of our guys making a solid play. Not one.

Tough loss, but we had enough, even without KJ, to win.
That comment was definitely “second place”
