had enough of KJ#3 stills. #4 was egregious and easy foul call on Cooper, the ref has perfect view. KJ jumps straight up for reb on circle; Cooper starts well inside circle jumping into KJ elbowing KJ in face; momentum causes Cooper to lose balance in conjunction with pushing off KJ to reach for ball

I guarantee you could find an MSU fan online who would insist this was a clear foul on KJ

Has anyone seen any replay of the technical foul on the Illinois bench?
It was during the timeout apparently. Brad said “their bench was up, our bench got up and a T was called on the bench. It wasn’t on me.”

I'm late to this party, but the box score shows me KJ only played 8 minutes and we shot threes at 20%. Do we really need to look beyond those two factors?

Lol, here's my proposal for a new rule. If you get t'd up for complaining about a bs call (like granting the time out), then they review the first call, and if it was indeed bs, the bs call still stands, but the T is withdrawn. (Any further complaining about the BS call can be t'd up, however.)

i too believe that maryland will receive the rath of our MSU debacle.
(oh, and when MSU makes their return trip to champaign. only problem
is Izzo brings his refs with him)

Do not believe this has been pointed out but if you watch a reply of the game at the very end it appears that Fears pushed Boswell with a forearm to the chest as he put up the shot up that went up over the backboard. Boswell most likely believed a foul would be called but it was not.

Positives:
Will Reilly played great and needs to be highlighted more. What a great stretch in the first half. Great finishing. Positive play over the last few games, as more of an all around player, lead into this game.
Morez played well again. Ivisic played well. The three with KB had a real nice clown on offense at the end of game. Reminded of ayo/ Kofi sets just real hard to defend. Was able to get to the basket and finish well.
Rebounding was good, hustle was good.

Can BU please stop going over screens at the logo?? Been doing it all year long. Guards had a running start to the basket. Put the bigs in a tougher situation, and MSU bigs could crash the boards. MSU was not a threat to take a 3 from there.
middle stretch on offense; need to find some more things to rely on. Did so last few minutes.
Reilly got in his own head after missing the possible and 1, and missed 2 FT. Tough environment I’m sure contributed too.

Can we dispense with this argument about what could or could not have been done by our players and coaches about the outcome to this game. This, ladies and gentlemen, was a hose job. The outcome was decided before the tip. Tommy's house, Tommy's rules; end of discussion. As long as the Big Ten puts up with this BS it is all we, as fans, can hope for. Kasparas is an anomaly that just can't be tolerated by the powers that be. Four minutes into that game it became apparent that he was going to slice up MSU like cheap salami. They had to get him out to have a chance, and they did. Calling a technical foul on us instead of on MSU for calling a timeout from the bench before 2 minutes is all one needs to know.
This is the only question that I would like to see answered by the NCAA, Big10, or the refs. My first reaction was how did they allow that TO? Then when the announcers said there has been a technical foul called, my reaction was " Izzo is getting T'd up. We're getting 2 shots and the ball". Even a held/jump ball call would have given the Illini the ball. If anybody has seen this addressed, I'd like to see the explanation.

In addition to still being pissed off about the officiating that called handcheck fouls on Augustine 25 feet from the hoop, in a NC game, and letting Sean May bulldoze Roger Powell, to then later learn that most of the UNC players were fake students participating in a university sanctioned scam, still frost my butt. I'll argue with anybody, that knows and watches basketball, that the 1989 and 2005 Fighting Illini were the best team(s) in the country those 2 seasons.
