Well. Black is an absolute stud. Good effort by the team, but that second half was just an example of MSU turning it on and trampling us. We really some players to complement black and frazier.

Could be us in a couple of years on our Senior night heading toward a Big Ten Championship.

The effort was there (Kudos BU!)! We had some of our weaknesses exposed and I hope we recruit/learn to overcome them. Lack of a shooter or 2, a serviceable big man to compliment, and B.B. IQ.....Glad to see the culture change and going to give BU a chance to address the issues.

Any person who thinks the ILLINI don't need an infusion of more talent, might want to watch this game like 100 more times. Our guys hustled, they defended, they fought, they just lost convincingly to a supremely talented team!

Coach can coach basketball, not hustle, the culture is in place imo. The season is over from a win/loss standpoint, but not from a growth standpoint and I think the Coach has to be proud for the most part from the last 2 games efforts.

We just got beat by a ultra talented team who has 3-4 Leron's, and that recipe will win more games than our current talent will. I love the efforts, I loved see Lucas full force dive for the loose ball. We just got to get better talent to compete.

Congrats to Izzo again, congrats to MSU seniors, and lets build that next Flying ILLINI legacy starting now!

I don't think he was proud of the effort and execution at the set of the 2nd half?

Can't stand Izzo and his whiney courtside demeanor....

Leron was great

Our guys did work hard, & you are right MSU has vastly superior talent. Two lottery picks in this years NBA draft. One will probably be a top 5 pick. Possibly a couple more future NBA players on their roster. We definitely need an infusion of talent.

My goodness, how many layups did we miss? Often times missed the rim entirely.

Can't wait until he retires; that's how much respect him. Like Coach K at Duke, perhaps Self at Kansas, he owns the refs. Watching ARK versus KY on ESPN. The high and mighty have fallen.

All three own the refs will agree, Izzo has won with inferior talent, we should hope our current situation becomes this...win with inferior, recruit superior, win longterm and create a legacy. I would think ALL of us as ILLINI fans would love to be in this situation sooner than later.

Self has won with superior talent in a annually weaker conference. Recruits will flock to that and his personality.

Coach K with the exception of the first few years at Duke as won with superior talent, albeit 5 titles in 31 tries with talent that one could argue would be vastly superior to nearly every other team, every other year? He was 73-59 at Army without that superior talent.

I would take Izzo over the other 2 any day...just my preference of the 3!

I said this after the first MSU game, but Ayo is very similar to Cassius Winston. Winston completely controlled the 2nd half. Both guys aren't going to put up 30 pts very often, if ever...and they don't make SC top 10 plays. But they control the game.

I do see a lot of similarities in their game. Ayo may put up a few of those 30 point games though. Has waaay more length than CW

True, plus all Winston needs to do is facilitate to his lottery picks. Ayo obviously doesn't have that type of talent around him so we might need him to be more of a scorer. Ayo and TF should be a perfect fit. Hopefully Tejon can be our Tum Tum.

This has been a long, long season with the players still hustling and giving great effort....but we are in need of a major talent upgrade....

AJ works hard but is very limited in skills other than shooting, which has been off lately...he hustles his butt off but isn't a player who can get to the rim and score on a regular basis...

Kipper has skills but can't dribble drive to the basket and finish...shoots decent from 3pt land but gets wild shots off on a majority of the time.

Damonte needs time to get his game on as the injury still seems to limit his explosiveness.

TJL has a great knack for driving and using the backboard to get his points...If only he had a jumpshot and could make FTS..

Mark Smith has ability but is adjusting to a higher level of play compared to hs bb...he needs to play and not think so much...just ball

Trent ...wow....worthy of 1st team all frosh B1G

Leron should be 2nd team all B1G but will probably get bumped to 3rd team...major improvement in his game

Ebo just needs to play

Finke is finke,,,good shooter but not a B1G center

We need upgrades at all positions but will take time to take the steps necessary to being elite again

First half was awesome. Refs set the tone for the 2nd and really put us on our heels. But Cassius Winston was the difference.
yeah...one MSU posession we picked up 3 fouls. Almost seemed like they (refs) were trying to relax our D. Regardless MSU was hot in last 12 minutes. Seemed like over 75% from 3p
