Planted it where you would expect him too. Come on, you must be visually impaired. He obviously stuck out his foot farther than he needed to hoping to catch Mirk going by.

I actually thought Scott probably got a clean block, though I can't say for sure whether he hits wrist just before ball.

He does not get ball here. We can see his fingers over top of Keaton’s arm:

Even if he does that’s 100% a hack on the wrist.

Replay shows Wagler getting absolutely HAMMERED by Jordan Scott of MSU on a layup attempt -- no call.

To me personally, this was the worst no-call of the entire game because it results in a 4pt swing, as MSU immediately comes down and gets a rebounding foul on Mirk and converts 2 FTs. Was it a foul? Probably yes (not a great angle, didn't see a replay). But don't think it warrants a whistle if the one on Keaton didn't seconds ago.

What I found interesting was that LaTulip actually mentioned the call on the rebound (literally 10 seconds after this Wagler play) as the "worst call of the night."

16:50 --

Initially I thought they got Mirkovic, but who knows.

Here's the replay of that one:

The most outrageous thing to me is all the MSU fans defending Fears saying the trip was just a normal basketball play.

If Keaton was out there doing the same stuff, I would not be able to defend it. I could maybe compartmentalize and celebrate his play while ignoring the antics. But I don't know how any decent human with eyes and a brain could defend it.

And the worst part is, he's such a small, scared little piss ant that he has to try to assault you when you're not looking. At least a guy like Edey had the decency to look you in the eye when he elbowed you in the face.
These same fans as well as Izzo would be screaming from the rafters if an opposing player did that garbage to State players.

The refs were not going to give Fears a F1 trip on Mirk. The refs would have had to have police escort after the game. When the one ref went to Izzo after the call he got in the refs face screaming. The tv cameras focused on the refs decision. I thought Fears was getting a F1. I also kept wondering why KW wasn't getting any calls on his driving to the basket. Home cooking.

Fly Illini fly… any chance you can put that replay of KW getting hammered side by side with the ghost call on Tomi against Fears?

Fears is a straight-up POS.

Don't know if it was already discussed, but what I found comical is that at the beginning of the broadcast, Steve Smith actually said "poor Jeremy Fears..." before launching into his unabashed defense of his character.

His elbows or feet will definitely cause some opponent to miss games before the season is out.
Mostly because Michigan State is adept at turning a blind eye to bad behavior.

I can’t stand the way MSU plays.

Not worried about that loss, that whistle will never happen in the NCAA tournament.

The odds of them playing that physical in the NCAA tournament and getting away with it are around 1%. Can't imagine a trip from a known dirty player doesn't get a foul when all eyes are on the game. They'll still be a tough out if they play that hard, but I gotta believe they won't get as many calls as they did in this one.

Here’s an even better look, I’ve slowed it down as best as I could. Complete hack on the arm.

Plus you’ve got Coen Carr from the other side with essentially a knee to the mid section.
Coen Carr makes considerably more contact on this play than Tomi when he fouled out. So messed up.

This era of basketball flopping is infuriating to watch. Older generations of players would not even try this because they would see it as looking weak. I get so sick of watching games and seeing it rewarded. Fears just perpetually threw himself on the floor to get calls.

I guess it's possible he doesn't actually hit the ball, but it looks like it to me, plus the ball rotates backward after that. And if he gets ball first, then contact to the wrist is allowed. It doesn't even matter since there was still the swat to the head earlier in the drive and (even more obvious) Carr's jump into the body that you can see here.
