Stunned he didn't rise and fire there. Confidence crushed after 45 minutes.

Fears closed out quick. He made the winning play and passed. Ball stuck with Big Z. MSU defended that well.

Tomi might have pulled a rabbit out of a hat there. Z wasn’t ready to shoot.

We got better tonight. This was a C+ game and we had absolutely everything going against us and still almost snagged that
Alot more positives than negatives. We went up a tough rebounding team and learned we have far more to improve in that area. Other teams are copying Purdue and beating us off the dribble for 2 point shots from point guards. That won't happen when Kylan comes back. But most importantly, this team doesn't have to deping that Keaton Wagler to win. They can play with every team in the country whether he plays well or not.

I blame Dan for starting the postgame thread. Come on Dan! ;-)
how very dare you GIF

He's the only reason we're all here. That's not something that you joke about...

1. We were never going to win that game the way the game was officiated.
2. That is a dirty program. Not just dirty player in fears who intentionally tripped mirkovic but Scott is dirty too. He elbowed Jake on the back of the head trying to sale an offensive foul on a screen. Numerous other plays were just nasty too.
3. I too would average 15 assist if I was allowed to have a lead blocker on every possession. Id short this program bc this style of play isn't going far on March.
I totally agree. I couldn't believe those ticky tack fouls they called on us when Michigan State was mauling our players.

Not gonna win many with your best player going 2-16.

Too much Fears down the stretch. I thought IL played MSU the way you have to. They dorked Carr, played 3-4 guys in the lane. But MSU just won it with fast break points and free throws. They garbage hustled their way to a win.

I still think IL still has a good outlook for the year.

Great game Mirk.
Great job by Davis hitting those 2 FTs.

Just one of those nights. Hope a game like this doesn’t happen in the NCAA tourney.

Let’s see how Wagler responds. This is the first adversity he’s had all year.

Lately we've been playing smart, confident and making good shot selection. There was not enough of that tonight. Michigan State played with confidence and purpose and got the win. Learn from this and on to the next one.

He does it so consistently that it's absolutely on purpose. HOF coach, yes, but trash.

We got their best shot. We were due for a clunker.

But this game was decided by 3 calls in overtime:
1. Touch foul on Tomi
2. Mirk gets clobbered no call
3. Fears jumps into Andrej for the and one.

Ball game.

Figured we would have to win 5 on 8 and that turned out to be the case. Needed at least our B+ game tonight and didn’t get it. Happens.

I’m just glad we got out of there with no injuries/suspensipns. 2/3 of @Purdue, Nebraska and @Sparty is outstanding.

Let’s get Kylan back, get him up to speed and go on a run. Team should be p***** off.

I don't follow other teams boards so I may be wrong . But I can't believe the blaming the refs story. It happens after every loss. The refs did not cost the win. We are the better. team but stuff happens on the road in a good conference. So you all keep crying. I will move on knowing that there are maybe six teams that can beat this team on a neutral court.
