Another classy move by Howard.

He knew that they were going to lose every B1G road game, this gives him an excuse.

Dhug should be able to play 40 minutes with all the rest he will be getting.

Maybe they haven't heard about positionless basketball?

How badly does a person have to mess up to be academically ineligible in this era? I thought UNC stopped all that?

Dug will miss the @Illinois game in Feb. Will miss Michigan's next 6 road games but play the home games. Kind of funny how they were able to bend the rules here
Do you know whether it's that he failed to meet Michigan academic standards or that he failed to meet NCAA academic requirements? I'm guessing it's Michigan's because otherwise I thought that makes you academically ineligible to play, no exceptions?

As an aside, I used to be a chemistry tutor for one of our football players during the Turner-Guenther era, and while I know it was a different time and administration, they made it quite clear that if you weren't keeping a 3.0 or showing up to your required study times, you weren't dressing.

Well he does need to hit the books apparently. I would figure that would mean NO ball, but I guess they do things a bit different in Michigan.

Very conflicted

- Juwan is a jerk and deserves to be fired
- Juwan is a terrible basketball coach and the longer he stays at Michigan the longer they will stink
- Nice 10 year stretch for Michigan after Steve Fischer was fired for Fab5 and post Fab5 payments

I'd like Michigan to return to that level, please

I don’t know what the minimum GPA is these days, but DIA still randomly sends out live spotters to confirm that football players are attending classes (according to a current player who told me).

Daughter's roommate used to do that during Tepper era. I think it was daily at that time, pretty sure. Guys would sit where they could be seen from the door, and be looking for her as much as or more than paying attention to the prof. Made sure they were seen by her. She also knew who they were recruiting and how highly they thought of them, at least what they wrote on paper.

I thought most athletes were taking their classes online? Is that no longer the case?

I imagine it might depend on the sport. Football only has to travel a handful of times and once a week when they do. The basketball teams can go on the road multiple times a week and be off campus for extended periods of time if they have road games back to back. Online classes may be easier for those student-athletes than others.
