Saw Michigan today and they look like a legit NIT contender. Wished we landed Amari Burnette originally, but his career mirrors Adam Miller. Both look limited and like they have maxed out.

They can rename St. Peter's Basilica and I'll still call it St. Peter's Basilica. We're blessed to have a global architectural masterpiece for our basketball arena, and it has an original name that I honor. YMMV. It's not like we play at Jersey Mike's, Value City, or XFinity. Thank goodness. ;)
Here's a shirt for you!

The Illinois acceptance rate is highly dependent on which major.
When I applied and got accepted to UIUC, I don't remember specifying a major, might have applied just to LAS? long time ago of course so memory might be wrong and I'm pretty sure a LOT of my HS friends wanted to go to UIUC but didn't bother to apply since they knew they wouldn't get in. Some of them went to the local CC because they knew it was a bunch of easy A's then getting into UIUC was much easier (and that's obviously a cheaper way to go)

Meanwhile Ivy league schools (I work at UPENN) have a low acceptance rate in part because if you want to go to an Ivy league school you apply to pretty much all of them, but obviously can only go to one or none of them. IE lots of top students apply to ivy league schools as their back up in case MIT or Princeton turns them down.

Back in the 80's I transferred in to UIUC as a junior into the college of engineering. It seemed pretty easy. No SAT/ACT. Just a transcript. I don't know if admissions is still this way. Definitely saved me a few bucks doing two years at a CC. I tell everyone who asks, this is the way to go.

I know at one time (or at least when I applied there), there were a lot of people that would apply threw Ag because it was the "easiest" way to get in and you could just change your major after you got accepted. University put the kibosh on that pretty soon after and basically required that you had to stay in the given college you applied through for at least one school year. While U of I was obviously my dream school and the place I had wanted to go to growing up, I have no regrets about ending up at Eastern Illinois as I ended up meeting some of my best friends that I'm still friends with to this day and had many enjoyable times, including road trips with the student section.

I went there for a year while deciding whether to go to grad school or just get a job.
Worked at Ted's Warehouse. That was a great year, I remember hardly any of it. LOL

I ended up getting a job, then realizing a chemist job without a PhD was not ideal and went to Case Western Reserve U two years later to get one. Should have just gone to grad school at EIU, their Chem dept was pretty good and with a MS from there you could get into UIUC's chem grad school a little easier.

I have my lovely wife to thank for my Illini-ness. I separated after 7 years of active duty from the USAF in April of 1982. She entered active duty as a USAF nurse in March of 1982 and listed all of the Air Force bases that had a major university nearby. The minute the personnel pukes (aka "fleshpeddlers") saw that she ASKED to go to Chanute AFB in Rantoul, IL, her orders were cut. As I had about 1 years' worth of credit by that time, I applied out of cycle to the U of I, as well as to Eastern and to Illinois State. Because it was out of cycle, I had to wait a year., so I attended Parkland College for one year, completing an AS in Criminal Justice before I received my acceptance letter to . . . . Illinois State. As I was preparing to go over to interview for admission into ISU, I received my acceptance letter into UIUC. As a transfer student I didn't have to take the SAT or ACT. graduated in 1985. Did my grad work at the AF Institute of Technology in Dayton, OH, but will forever be an Illini. Only an Illini.
