So Reggie Lynch got to play basketball for 2yrs while being under investigation for rape. College sports is a dirty business. #Gophers

No kidding! Makes me feel better about how we handled Nunn. Not that I begrudge him making the most of a second chance, glad he's had a chance to, hopefully, redeem himself.

I think Nunn is actually doing pretty well for Oakland. 25 ppg, 44% from the field, 85% FT%, 41% 3PT%. The level of competition may not be there, but I watched the MSU v Oakland game and he really lit MSU up. I wish him the best.

Illinois played NU right before McIntosh hurt, UMD before Jackson and Bender hurt, now this.

Charles Matthews better watch out, is what I’m saying. Saturday could be his last game for a while.

Major news from Minnesota. Starting senior center Reggie Lynch suspended by the school's Office of EOAA for sexual misconduct stemming from an April 2016 incident. He's banned from campus until 2020, unless he appeals.

So do they vacate his 11 points now, meaning that we actually won? I know, I know, I can dream, right?

Articles already out stating that an appeal will happen, for a 2 year ban, though along with a "slippery" borderline previous issue, I would say there may be some more damning issues at hand.:chief:

what I read online this morning said that the original allegation was resolved some time ago and that the allegation that just got him suspended is new. Not the act is new, just the allegation. Probably stems, in part, from the recent wave of allegations in politics, the press, and hollywood. Here is the link that I read.

Anyone else getting tired of Underwood's defense? I ask this in 100% sincerity as I am weighing the pros and cons of running it. Seems to me that it is a huge disservice to the team based on roster makeup and skill sets.

I'll hang up and listen.

Not even a little bit. Wait until we get more athletic and understand how not to make silly fouls.

I’d love to see another Pitino out a job

I don't understand the desire to crucify people before anything is proven. If the school has enough evidence to feel confident there was an issue detrimental to the team or the school, then they should take appropriate action. However, if they do not know and are simply following the lead of the legal process, why should a kid have everything taken away? Isn't that one of our basic values as a country?

I had a friend that was falsely accused in college. For a good month or more, he and his family went through hell. If he had been an athlete, then I assume you would have had him removed from the team.

I agree but man it doesn’t look good.

They apparently did, and have. The school's investigation is complete and the ruling has been issued. He has been suspended for 2 years as a result of that investigation, pending any appeal he might make.

Furthermore, innocent until proven guilty only applies for criminal matters in a court of law. The Constitution provides for certain due process in other situations (including this one), however, it does not necessarily have the same presumption of innocence or standard of proof as a criminal matter.

Lil Pitino's "I don't know, I'm just a basketball coach" quote after talking about how involved he gets with player's incidents off the court is a bad look. The mob boss has rubbed off on his son.

On a separate note, apparently there were some rumors around ISU that girls felt very uncomfortable around him before he transferred out. Yeesh.

Disgusting. Dude should have been nowhere near a college campus. Let alone a basketball court.

Rooting for Minn to crash and burn as long as Pitino is at helm.

In all fairness, that was not an answer talking about how involved he gets with players' incidents off the court. Pitino said that there are University policies, and AD policies that govern over incidents like that, and he had confidence that his athletic director and University would follow the right process.

Then, a question was asked on "do policies need to change?" which he obviously has no jurisdiction on answering or developing university policies on sexual harassment allegations (at this point it is allegations). That was his answer "I don't know, I'm just a basketball coach."

And the same when he was in high school in one of the more upscale Minneapolis suburbs. Nothing new for him and not a very well kept secret in the Twin Cities. Just an ignored secret.
