I think you get your money back even without the insuranceSo this morning while the COVID decision was being made I was buying tickets for the Rutgers game. Yep, got the cancellation insurance.
A lot of conferences are changing this though. I would imagine BIG TEN will have to
No. Non conference games are just cancelledSo this Wednesday’s game counts as a loss as of right now? That is simply amOng how bud we get hosed
I guess it would depend on whether the B1G adheres strictly to the CDC guidelines and how many players either have it or could have it in the coming daysNightly news just said that the CDC cut Covid quarantine time in half, so if the clock started today, we’d be clear by Sunday, right?
^^I guess it would depend on whether the B1G adheres strictly to the CDC guidelines and how many players either have it or could have it in the coming days
5 days is new CDC quarantine time...I guess it would depend on whether the B1G adheres strictly to the CDC guidelines and how many players either have it or could have it in the coming days
What determines if we are unable to participate? Do we determine that? If we have 5 guys who can suit up can we play? Is there any wording in these rules about the team being fully vaccinated? It seems like a dumb rule to punish teams if they are vaccinated and these are breakthrough cases. Anyway, it maybe better to get this out of the way now than in March.According to B1G rules as they stand right now, if we can't play on Sunday, we forfeit.
Competition Involving Two Teams. If a team is unable to participate in a scheduled Conference competition due to COVID-19 and as a result the competition is unable to occur on the calendar day on which it is scheduled, the competition shall be considered a forfeit by the team unable to participate and shall not be rescheduled. In such case, the team unable to participate shall be assessed a “loss,” its opponent a “win,” and Conference standings shall be adjusted accordingly.
B1G Forfeiture Policy
Having it now doesn't preclude having it in March. What determines if we are unable to participate? Do we determine that? If we have 5 guys who can suit up can we play? This also assumes the cases are asymptomatic. Symptomatic cases I believe have to continue to isolate until symptoms subside. The new guidelines also require 5 days of masking around others after the 5 day isolation period. Would this mean players would have to continue to mask on the court? I think that would be fine but just another aspect that needs to be figured out.We have an optimistic surgeon:
Will B10 wake up in time? (Assumes a few things granted)
Very true, but having it should provide some level of antibodies for a few months that should lessen our chances of an outbreak.Having it now doesn't preclude having it in March.
Will need to check with Juwan and get back to us.The big East just changed their rules, think our feather in the wind commissioner will figure out he has to adapt?
Brad Underwood on radio show: Tested Sunday before practice ... "We did two tests and got dinged pretty good."
Brad Underwood: We actually have a few guys who are negative so we got them together this evening for a weight workout, conditioning on the treadmill. Tomorrow, I'll do some basketball workouts with them as well.
Brad Underwood: We're still working on refining our policies. Our athletic directors meet in the morning to finalize some of those things. Everybody is doing it a little bit different, which is the challenge.
Brad Underwood: Right now we're in game prep mode for Minnesota until they tell us otherwise.
Tonight, Loren Tate said that a team has to have eight scholarship players available. What determines if we are unable to participate? Do we determine that? So the guys Luther Head is paying tuition for don't count?Tonight, Loren Tate said that a team has to have eight scholarship players available.
Seems like every team "home for Christmas" might have an outbreak?Would think that with most of the guys going home for Xmas, at least they weren't all together and once they get back we can keep everyone separate for the time needed.
I have the feeling our game won't go, we will be required to forfeit, then in a week, most games get canceled due to outbreaks and they allow rescheduling and no forfeits, but ours sticks.
Omicron is gonna be everywhere. It is already. If CDC is cutting guidance, they must have some knowledge of its effects and longevity. I'd say with the unknowns and likelihood of many games getting canceled they should allow make ups within a certain time frame to be completed without penalty. If not made up by the end of B1G play, it's a forfeit. This should have been the rule last year as well
Wonder how come other schools are not reporting cases?
Their kids must have gone home for Xmas too and *some* must have contracted the virus. Has to happen.
