I was able to get seats through the link. Not too crazy. ~$200/ticket for pretty good seats.
I don’t know what’s going on with the ticket prices this year at MSG. Went to the Jimmy V classic last two years and tickets were 75$ base, for 2 games. Now $110. 50% increase! Checked UConn games since they played in Jimmy V last year as well. Same increase in pricing for their games va Gonzaga and St. John’s. Insane. Alright I’m done venting. For now.

I'm in the same boat. Loved seeing us at MSG the past two years but I feel like they pushed it a bit far this time. I am hoping to wait and scoop up a deal on resale or just save the money for @ Rutgers.

hoping for a nor’easter and pick up resale lol

Didn’t realize they were playing at Rutgers. I’ll take a look at those. Edit: yeah those are crazy too.

Broker had near courtside behind basket for 4X list or $4k per ticket
Lol. I had those courtside, behind-the-basket MSG tix for our NIT (semi?)-finals aginst Virginia (and Ralph Samson) in 79 or 80ish. Second row, IIRC. I think we paid $20 a ticket.

Illini played Minnesota in those 1980 NIT semifinals. Lost by 2. Sampson and Virginia beat UNLV in the other semi. Illini then beat UNLV for 3rd place.

Based upon my vast (more than 60 seconds) Google search, it appears that the Knicks sit in front of Section 6, whilst their opponents are seated in front of Section 4. Are we home or visitor for this one? Is there any good way to tell?

I saw those resale tickets but I’m wondering if they are essentially ticket futures and not in-hand tickets. Because I didn’t think the tickets were on sale yet. I’ve seen that before for European soccer, where they sell a section/area and knowing they have an in to buy the tickets later at a lower price.
And this is why ticket sales are essentially criminal.

Assuming Duke is the home team, then we will sit in front of Section 4.

Changing my guess. In NBA games, the home team sits in front of Section 6 and visitors sit in front of Section 4. Resale tickets in Section 4 and vicinity are much more expensive and less common than tickets in Section 6 and vicinity. Higher prices stem from higher demand. I think that demand for tickets behind the Duke bench is likely to be higher than demand for tickets behind the Illini bench. Ergo, Illinois is the "home" team and you should sit in Section 6, where prices start at $918. Section 4 tickets start at $2,880.

Thanks, I'm going through the same thought process. Trying to confirm with MSG or one of the teams before I buy. Will post if I get confirmation.

I was there when we took down #1 MSU w Magic Johnson. I was in Bloomington when Nick threw in 3 pointer at buzzer to beat RMK Indiana. I will be at MSG hoping to see Illinois take down Cooper Flag and Blue Devils.
VERY MUCH off topic - Can anyone with good Photoshop skills work with @ptgrd23 's avatar to put Bielema's T-bar pose in the Batman spot and Beamer going bats*** crazy in the spotlight? I'd make that my profile banner in about 2 seconds if that can happen.

According to IFund, the Illini sections are 108,109, 7, 8, and 9. Based on that, we should be the bench in front of section 6, where I got tickets. Also, NYC Illini Club is having a pregame event at the Chelsea Bell. NYC Illini Event

I've had my seats for a while now, just bought plane tickets yesterday. Looks like I'm midway up on the Duke side of the aisle between 117/116. I could make a small fortune selling my seats looking at the resell prices.... NOT gonna happen though, lol! I'm super stoked about this game, wouldn't miss it for anything!

I got seats in section 101-there's a site that shows you the view from whatever seat you have. The Chelsea Bell event looks great. The Illini should be rock solid by then. Waiting for Riley to break out.

Did we ever figure out if we are the “home team” for this game?
