NBA Draft

I’d hate Houston for KJ. They already have a point guard who was picked top 3 last year who couldn’t get on the court for them.

The argument the writer of the Houston pick on the ESPN mock draft made is that it could give them backcourt depth, especially if they decide to move on from Jalen Green and/or Fred Van Vleet and transition to Reed Sheppard and potentially whoever they decide to take at #10.

I feel like the Bulls already have enough guards for the backcourt. We need more depth on the frontcourt and Queen would be a nice piece but I fear he might be off the board by the time the Bulls pick.

The ESPN mock draft had the Bulls taking Egor Demin from BYU at #12 with Queen to Portland at #11.

This kid is automatic from mid-range... What could have been..
Will may not be done growing.... We know he will put on weight but imagine him another inch taller. That's getting to Tatum and Durant frame. Nobody will be able to touch that ball from his release without a ladder.

Kid will be a stud and I'm gonna be happy to see that Illinois next to his name for a long time

I’m hoping for Queen to the Bulls honestly.
Honestly, I don't see Queen as an impact NBA guy. Maybe 20 years ago but he feels too much like a throwback.

I would take a risk on Malauch if he's there. Needs to get more physical but the size and athleticism are there to be an impact all NBA caliber defender. His shot looks pretty fluid to the point I think there is a respectable 3pt shooter there at some point.

I’d prefer him too, but most mocks I’ve seen have Malauch gone by time Bulls pick. And I still can’t believe Bulls are picking where they are. Bulls are so in love with mediocrity, they had to trade one of their key assets to keep a draft pick that shouldn’t have been in jeopardy. Please someone tell the front office that making the play-in tournament 3 years in a row is not success.

As to who the Bulls should draft, everyone at that point has blemishes. I can’t say I have much confidence Bulls’ brain trust will get it right. One guy I like (though really only saw him play for any solid chunk of time twice) is Asa Newell. Probably too early for Bulls to pick him, but I think someone is going to get a really nice developmental piece.

Some of us are fun, some of us…not so much?

Unfortunately not much will change until Reinsdorf leaves as principal owner (I say that as a fan of both the Sox and Bulls). The Bulls have been mediocre for much of the 21st century. The Bulls have been a rudderless ship since the strike in 1998, and the mirage of winning the 2008 Draft Lottery is long in the rearview mirror.

Tough days to be a fan of both the Sox and Bulls...

The Bulls will have a Reinsdorf long after the Sox lose the Jerry one.

Just think - the Mavs won the coin flip for 11th. One more loss (while pretending its not rigged) and the Bulls would be picking 1st

Lol this conspiracy theory is so funny to me. Do we really think such a thing could be pulled off without the owners also being in on it? And if the answer is no, do we really think all the other lottery team owners would put the league's interest in getting Doncic to the Lakers over their own self-interest in getting Cooper Flagg?

I already conceded. Twice. It was a dumb post and I 😈 grinned and knew it right before I said "f it! It's a little boring in here, let's see what happens!"

We saw him go on a couple heaters, we also saw him go on some... um... coolers?

The kid is dripping with talent. He went through some growing pains here, but came out on the other side a better player. "What could have been", is going to pay dividends for the program. It's more proof that guys get better here.

I'll be surprised if he isn't top 15 after him showing off this week. He grew an inch and put on 15 pounds since last summer. He is still a teenager. NBA GM's eat that stuff for breakfast.

Maulach is almost certainly a top 10 pick. The Bulls won't get that lucky.

I like Queen a bit more than you. Rebounding almost always translates, and Queen is a monster on the glass. (Every high major player who out rebounded him was an upper-classman) He also made 76% of his FTs, so its not crazy to think he has a chance to become a floor spacing big man, a la Myles Turner. He's got great counting stats, and great advanced stats. He's got some baby fat to lose, and isn't afraid of the moment.

I think the Bulls would be lucky to get him.

There'd need to be some analysis done. Because of the revenue-sharing, teams are invested in the league as a whole. For an owner personally, it's about does having a #1 pick play for them noticeably increase their team's own revenue beyond the national revenue increase? Like does Flagg on the Mavs sell twice as many jerseys than Flagg on the Wizards for example. This all assumes owners don't care about winning, and at least some don't, at least not enough to value it over money.

Ugh wait, thinking about this more it's not just about Flagg, it's ultimately about Luka to the Lakers (and the Pelicans getting rewarded when they sent AD to the Lakers). So it's does the Lakers getting more powerful worth moving the #1 pick from where it should go to the team that helps out the Lakers?
