I'm not sure Illinois fans have ever been more spoiled by one player as it pretains to the term "athlete" than Terrance Shannon Jr.

Andrej could get to the rim and finish at will. He was never "mediocre athlete."
Just to be clear - Terrance had a 37.5 max vert at the combine...Dre is 4 inches above him.

Incredibly impressive. People are taking note.

His shooting though....

I'll keep on hoping he comes back for us.

wild, it seems like tsj got higher above the rim than stoj. while i didn't think stoj was a mediocre athlete, i'm shocked he has the highest (running) vert

Playing vertical vs gym vertical? Hand size and grip strength? Whatever it is tsj definitely maxes out his athleticism in game.

It’s big, but not as big as Michigan was

TJ is just a blur getting down the court. I'd bet he's a better long-jumper. Also there is probably a difference in simply getting a full running start, and maintaining your dribble in your run-up.

Stoj is a tremendous athlete. Really strong, but he isn't as fast as TJ, so it looks a bit different.

The bounce is the key for AS' ability to finish in the lane. He can jump right through defensive contact and still elevate enough to get a clear look.

They could probably look for him in transition a bit more, but the problem is once he is downhill, that's the play. There is no plan B, if he gets cut off at the rim... The ball is going up.

While the shooting obviously needs work, this will take time.

His ability to find teammates on his drives is an area where he could make immediate and consequential improvement.

Mixed bag from Andrej Stojakovic today.

Vertical was great. 1st in running vert and 8th in stand still. Overall mediocre agility and speed drills. Not great with full court sprint, was one of the worst times.

Really struggled in the shooting drills, was almost dead last in three point shooting and was bottom half of others. (For reference, twenty five guys did a three point shooting drill, and he finished twenty third. Will be something he works on in the offseason to gear up for his senior year at Illinois).

Overall, not sure he helped himself much today. The experience will be big for this offseason.
He needs his Dad to get that magical basketball in Space Jam so he can touch it and get that 3 point stroke going.

His "Hakeem Pct" stat is interesting as well. This stat measures defensive disruption (the percentage a possession ends with a steal or a block by the player).

This is surprising considering he played on the team that defensively had the lowest turnover and steal % in all of D-1 college basketball.

I also felt obliged to comment on this one since I had to Google what it was (actually Google wouldn't even come up with anything, I had to look this one up with ChatGPT).
You were not alone in this

3/4 court speed on Andre is a little surprising, although in comparison to guys like Ayo and Shannon, you can certainly see the difference.

Acuff measured better than expected. 6'2 barefoot and 6'7 wingspan.

I think this gives him a good chance to take the 5th spot over Keaton but it's either or. can't go wrong with this choices. Keatons size, poise, shooting and decision making vs the unreal explosiveness and scoring of Acuff.
no way I make my selection based on some measurables. If Kenton was your choice at #5 stick with it. If Acuff was your choice at #5 stick with it.

He was really good as a 17-year-old freshman (7.9 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game...at 17 years old), and even with the injury could probably have gone top-10 in the 2025 draft if it wasn't for the fact he was too young to be eligible. Makes a lot more sense for that #15 pick for the Bulls, a team that is not in any likely scenario competing for anything next season, to take a swing on a young high upside guy like Quaintance than to go for something safe.
Too injury prone for such a crucial time and pick...

How did Kylan perform? Perhaps I missed his results. Thanks as always.

...and just about everyone's measurables were over-stated going into the combine. Does arm length help you play defense? Sure, but effort and intelligence are still the most important ingredients.
There is some research out there that suggest a link between general athleticism and relative arm length. Guys with long arms compared to their height tend to be better athletes... Everyone who has watched any tape knows that athletically, Keaton isn't going to blow you away...but if you've watched enough tape, you'll be blown away by everything else.

Illinois was either tallest or second tallest last year and the new crop of players are as tall or taller at each position and we didn’t loose the Ivisic’s so will be as tall or taller than last year.

Yes it seems extremely likely we will again have the tallest starting unit in CBB

Vaaks 6’7 > Wagler 6’5
Coleman 6’4 > Boswell 6’2

*assumes these players are starting of course

As I've posted here before, Andrej Stojakovic wants to go to the NBA.

Since the day he declared, it has been 50 / 50 - come back to Illinois or stay in the draft. That hasn't changed.

He will do what he, his agent, and his family decide is the best opportunity.
He's coming back.

He does want to go to the NBA (As does everyone), but the draft stock is just not there right now to qualify him going and passing up five times the money in school.

Next year I expect him to have a chance at the first round if he can make improvements in various parts of his game.

Whether you like the Sleepers guys or not, they have an interesting take on Andrej in the draft. It's worth watching if for no other reason than the entertainment value of them espousing conspiracy theories--which they readily admit to doing.

The draft process is showing that Andrej plays with leverage well, and not just on the court.

Isn't nearly every decision 50/50 if we are looking at it that way? "To transfer or not transfer" "To stay in draft or come back"
