So barring injuries do we think Ayo gets ~5 minutes a game or less in the regular season?
Before the Bulls made all those trades, I thought Ayo was competing for 10+ minutes a game, now you're probably right, five minutes. Might get harder still when Coby White returns.

I can see Ayo and Coby coming off the bench together interchangeable with Ball and Caruso... Zach Lavine is getting major minutes as is Ball and Derozan... but DeRozan will start over Patrick Williams I feel at the SF (3) position... What do you all think?

Lonzo, Lavine, Derozan, Pat Will, Vooch will be the first 5. Next unit will probably be Caruso/White/Troy Brown/ Lauri(?)/Marko/Bradley.

Hopefully Ayo's play will work him into the guard rotation, I think it will.

If he can get some confidence in his 3 ball he will be fine everywhere else. Gotta start making a few of those.

Maybe it could be an opportunity. Ayo could develop chemistry with Williams and Simonovic off the bench, and that could lead to a bigger role.

Ayo with 19 points and the ESPN2 interview after the game. Gave a shout out to whoever drafted created Summer League for rookies. Good job, Ayo!

If Kofi can effectively defend the pick and roll, and improves his shot blocking, I think he gets drafted.

Separate topic, I’m excited to see Kendrick Nunn with the Lakers. He will have a lot of opportunities to spot up from 3. Hope he takes advantage.

Seems like Ayo has really improved going to his left since the season has ended. I’ve seen him make several nice moves to the hoop using his left. Seems much more confident with the move than he did in season.
Noticed as much looking at some clips:

That was one of the two major knocks on his game, with the other being inconsistent 3-pt shooting. 3-pt shooting was a problem during Summer League (1-12, yikes!) but seeing his progress going left makes one hopeful that he can fix the other issue as well. The work ethic is certainly there.

Kendrick Nunn is there because somebody on the perimeter has to try to play defense.

But yes he should get some good catch and shoot opportunities from Lebron and when Westbrook is assist hunting for his triple doubles.

We all know Melo ain’t passin that ball.

Sucks for Luka. That's why I don't understand the backlash on Twitter for the Bulls only giving Ayo a short-term min deal. Guaranteed money is guaranteed money
Agreed. $2.5M guaranteed is life changing money. Work hard (which we know he will) and he will get rewarded again.

Ayo signs a two year contract while Luka signs a two-way contract.
I interpret that to mean that the Pistons aren't yet convinced that Garza has the legs to compete in the league. I watched them last night and while Garza played fairly well, I still thought his lack of speed was a liability on defense, and that's against guys who won't make an NBA roster.

What impressed me about Ayo was that some of the guys he played with or against were high picks a couple of years ago and he looked to be the much better prospect.

He needs to give the Bulls the confidence he can run the point as a back-up. This will allow Ayo to be at his best, with the ball. He also needs to be able to hit the 3, especially at the wing....when he isn't playing the point. Thought he played solid defense and passed well.

Another interesting stat to look at for Ayo is turnovers. This past season he averaged 3.3 a game, with a TOV% of 15.7, and I read this was an area of concern for NBA scouts. Summer Leagie he averaged only 1.6 per game, with a TOV% of 10.9. So another area where he's shown signs of improvement.

Anyone follow the Summer League closely? I tried to peak in on a few folks, like Garza and Georgi. Garza I thought had a really nice showing. I'm not sure how much stock the league will put in his stats, but he was really efficient and had a number of high rebound games! I know he and Kofi are not of the same mold, but wondering if there were other players out there that maybe shed a light that Kofi could get drafted next year as a potential test to see what he could do? I think if Shaq were shaq back in the day, he would have a spot in the NBA. That's given his unique size, strength, and quickness. I know Kofi has his unique size, strength, but not the same quickness....but still gotta think he's worth something in the NBA!

Garza had amazing PER numbers, but what the stat line didn't show was that he still doesn't have a lot of footspeed, both running the court or lateral movement. The fact that he got signed to a 2-way even while putting up these numbers doesn't bode very well for his future unless he can find a way to become 15% faster up the court.
