Just giving him some grief; it’s all good.In Gritty’s defense, I’m completely shocked the Blazers made the playoffs this year. If you knew Deni Avdija was suddenly becoming an all star in year six, I’d love to know if you also have some lottery numbers or stock tips.
Since I spent a year at Oregon State, I’ve followed the Blazers. When he originally wrote that, I thought they had a chance to make playoffs this year in large part because there were so many teams tanking and with the team being in the process of being sold, Blazers weren’t likely to tank. Actually made a minor move at the deadline, so one could see they weren’t selling off guys. Even if they didn’t make playoffs this year, I felt there was a good chance they’d make playoffs next year with Lillard being back.
Hey, we all make mistakes and not every take is right. But it was the statement “if you know anything about the Blazers absolutely will not convert until 2028” that I thought was ridiculous, which is why I remembered the post. If you throw out absolutes and seemingly position yourself as an expert on Portland, all to support your premise about the “value” of getting first round picks back as trade compensation, have to expect some grief.
