It was because of our head to head matchups! The committee didnt know we had played this year...

Unreal NCAA! I usually feel they get it mostly right, but not this year
the dude they interviewed from the committee is Chris Reynolds , a guard who played for the walkaround idiots.....nuff said..

There apparently was some confusion on the board (not really) about what a "trainwreck" season is.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the preseason #1 UNC Tarheels.

Ranking Every Team in Men’s College Basketball, From UNC (No. 1) to Hartford (No. 363)

Indiana grad, worked at Indiana, Notre dame, Michigan State, Western Michigan, Northwestern, and Bradley before getting a coosh office job with NCAA. Seems like a key cog to the good ole boy system!
yep , my bad ......I knew he played for one of my hated rivals at least.......sorry , not sorry.....

Heard on XM Jay Wright says he thinks Oral Robert's has a chance in 1st game,...under rated and some high level players.

Maybe I'll throw oral Robert's as an elite 8 team in one of my brackets...wth
ORU is probably the best 12 seed in the bracket this year. Duke isn't the worst 5 seed, but that's because Miami is also a 5 seed.

Turning down an NIT invitation and denying your team, their families & fans more games together has always seemed to me a snobby thing to do.

They had what, four Q3 losses? The Minny collapse was the final nail in their at-large coffin IMO.

Their only path to a bid was winning the BTT.
Their quad 3 loses came with starters out. To me it seemed like Iowa’s EIU lost didn’t affect them much

Charleston and FAU are teams that were ranked earlier this year it will be interesting to see how they do

I don’t remember a tournament where I look at 10 seeds and could see them make a legit run

Bummed for Rutgers. I believe the folks smarter than me saying they didn't earn a bid, but that program is in a really fun place right now, and I was looking forward to watching them in the tournament.
Agree. Rutgers got screwed over. They looked like an NCAA tourney team in the B10 tournament. The committee chair used Mawot Mag's injury and their poor performance in February as an excuse but I guess he didn't watch them in the last couple of games where they beat another bubble team and nearly beat a 1 seed. No question in my mind that Steve Pikiell's team would do better than NC State or Mississippi St. Recency bias but NC State got drilled by Clemson in the ACC tournament and lost one of their players. Miss. St. got slaughtered by a #1 seed in their tourney.

I like Miami but Drake will be a tough test due to their experience. Potential upset possibility in both of these games

I don't think the UNC program nor UNC fans strive to make the NIT. If you thought the UNC players underachieved in the regular season, think about how they'd do in the NIT. They'd probably lose in the 2nd round. I think they want to erase this season from their memories and move on. Right choice to decline the NIT for that program at this time coming off a runner up appearance in the title game last year. Nothing good would come out of playing for that team. With that being said, they're cheaters and I don't feel the least bit bad for them

I watched Florida Atlantic and they soundly beat UAB. I think they have a chance to make a run. I also like College of Charleston. Furman is another mid major that has a chance to pull the upset. Those are the 3 mid majors I'm looking at

Nobody strives to make the NIT. That’s why they call it the “Losers Tournament” AND Everybody wants to erase the season from their minds if they don’t make the NCAA tourney. If you punk-out you just look like a looser twice over…totally classless or in the case of Carolina…someone who doesn’t go to class.

It is so elitist. I mean, how hard would it be for the AD and HC to say, "we had a bummer, but the NIT has a rich history too and we owe it to our kids to give them an opportunity to go out on a high note, visit MSG, win a trophy, have fun, and nothing is guaranteed anyways, we're still gonna have to beat some quality teams/programs. We're looking forward to the challenge."

Does losing face in the twittersphere really hurt that badly?

I really can't stand UNC.

Well, I hate my bracket again. Maybe one of these years I'll actually like one.

Ended up with Purdue, Arizona, Gonzaga, and Indiana in the F4 with Arizona beating the Zags in the final. I don't like any of it. Also, I picked Arizona last year and got burned. Yet here I am again, with an Arizona team I like less than last year.

Go figure.
