I disagree. Not amazing but could have been much worse. We have really good matchups up until the elite 8.

Something wrong when the #17 seed is a #6 seed. They should be the highest #5 seed. Makes no sense
First round upsets that I like at first glance:
- New Mexico over Clemson - I just think New Mexico is plain a better team right now, the seeds could be swapped.
- Oregon over South Carolina - South Carolina did nothing in non-conference, overachieved in the SEC, then got blown out in the SEC tournament once the other teams got serious. Oregon isn't the best 11 seed (put James Madison here and I like it even more), but the teams are close enough and going in opposite directions that this looks attractive.
- McNeese over Gonzaga - Gonzaga has played better of late, but a 5 seed is way too high for them. McNeese was going to be the toughest 12 anyway (well, now James Madison is the toughest 12 by virtue of being a 10 seeded too low), I like this matchup
- Grand Canyon over Saint Mary's - Another 5-12 matchup that should probably be a 6-11 matchup. GCU has been tough this season, and St. Mary's really only turned it on in conference play after a disappointing non-con slate.

Obviously any elite 8 game is gonna be tough and they would have to get those first but the top half of the East is loaded imo.
UConn is the standout best team imo. Auburn is also damn good and really got hosed because SDSU tough and FAU is the most dangerous 8 seed.
I mean, we have the toughest region by almost any measure.
BYU was the #1 5-seed on the s-curve (17th overall), KP = 16, NET = 13.
Iowa State is #3 on Torvik since 1/1.

Morehead State and BYU are the strongest 14 and 6, but the idea that the East is unfairly loaded I don't agree with. Conference tournament week bias.

Disappointed Indiana St was left out. Sentimental reasons, but as the talking heads noted, ISU has the highest NET (29) of any team left out of the tournament.
Whole heartedly agree. No excuse not to make sweet 16. Iowa state isn’t the worst or best 2 seed imo. If that matchup happens I think we can win it. I’ll happily deal with the problem of UConn in the elite 8

The CBS talking heads choosing mostly 1 seeds is extremely boring.
It's an extremely top heavy field this year.

They do it every year and are invariably wrong. Just proves the point they pay no attention whatever to any teams outside the top 10. Lazy "analysis."
