Agreed. As a #3 seed it's sort of expected given it implies we're a top 12 team.

So BYU should have been a 5? Big deal! We are a 3! Go take care of business.
I could not possibly agree with this more. And don’t sleep on Duquesne. They can absolutely beat BYU.

Lots of hyperventilating here on our draw. Guarantee there is a lot of hyperventilating on the BYU and ISU about a potential matchup with IL. Bottom line: It's the Tourney. 55-60 of the teams in the bracket could beat us on any given day. Bring the A game every time and we advance.

I was just gonna the same thing. The A-10 is not a joke and they just beat a good VCU team. Dayton got in at large but Loyola, Richmond, and Mass were also good.

Even St Joe's finished middle of the pack and took Kentucky to OT and stomped Villanova.

The dukes have also been incredibly hot since late January. They started conference play 0-5 and have since went 15-3.

Fun fact: they've got the Drame twins from that St Peters elite 8 team(also just beat Banks who was also on that team and played for St Bonaventure).

can anybody believe NC as a #1 seed? almost like they had someone on the nominating committee

We win the east and we'll win a national championship. I believe in this team, everything is there, the talent and confidence.

Mountain West with 6 teams in the tourney? I know they have gotten better, but this is one of the biggest surprises for me. They are tied with the B1G for 3rd most bids.

Incredible parity among the top teams. They all provided good wins to each other.

UNLV had more Quad 1 wins than 5-seed San Diego State. They would have gotten in too were it not for a few hideous home losses.

Actually ISU fans are feeling quite smug about us if you go to their forums. They would rather take us than BYU. BYU beat them like a drum at home and took it to the wire again in Ames. They believe their defense can stop TSJ

They were a 1 seed in 183 out of 200 brackets on the bracket matrix.

Is there an Illinois Loyalty bracket contest for us all to enter? Would be fun to see who might have the best picks.
there was one on CBS last year and it seems to be still up and running.

Don't know if this link will work or not.

I think the issue was just the top 6 seed was going to be hard this year no matter if it was BYU, St. Marys, or Gonzaga. BYU is scary because if you bomb 3s obviously if you make a lot you will probably win. But this isn't as rough of a draw as Loyola or Houston. The top 6 seed the last three years were actually better going into the tournament than BYU. It's just how it goes with the last 3 seed vs the top 6. You could argue Iowa State was bad luck, but I actually think we would match up well against them and if we played in sweet sixteen against them people would be happy anyways. So overall tough luck a little but not as egregious as the Houston and Loyola ones.

I thought we got a tough path in the East, with Morehead State, BYU, and Iowa State (if the seedings hold.) But, when I compared to other brackets #s 14, 6, and 2s, I think it's not as bad as I thought. The West is Colgate, Clemson, and Arizona; South is Oakland, Texas Tech, and Marquette; and the Midwest is Akron, S Carolina, and Tennessee. I probably see Iowa State as a tougher draw than many on here, but overall I am OK with where we're at. If we can put together complete games similar to our last 3 second halves, we can beat any team, including UConn. And yes, I have my orange glasses on, but this is the time of the year for them.

Looks like the WP is trying to kill two birds with one stone. Iowa is one of the favorites in the Women's bracket with Clark being the story of the year there. I think that distinction would have been clearer if they added a person wearing a Gamecock jersey, since SC is the #1 overall seed in the Women's bracket.

But the annoying love for Duke and NC...shame.

I was thrilled to get off the 4 line to avoid a potential first round matchup with Samford. They play super fast and press, which is a bad matchup for us as we can get sped up and turnover happy. But you know who else gets sped up and turnover happy? Purdue. And who could potentially be waiting for them in the S16? Samford.

Bracket glory awaits you if you have the courage to put your money where your mouth is.
