Nebraska with a 13-5 BIG record doesn't get in? Holy crap this is the worst job by a committee ever. They made an effort to display the top freshmen. St Mary's got screwed to. A 9-9 record would get you in the past with some snubs at 10-8. We will need more than 22 wins next year after seeing what happened to the Huskers.
There are wins, and then there are quality wins. We saw the committee bias toward the latter.

ASU: Four quality wins (UCLA, USC, Kansas, Xavier)

UCLA: Four quality wins (AZ, KY, USC x 2)

Syracuse: Four quality wins (Clemson, Buff, Lou, Mia FL)

St Bonaventure: Three quality wins (RI, Buffalo, Syracuse)

St Mary's: Two quality wins (Gonzaga, NM). They also got punished for their weak non-conference schedule. They did not play any real teams.

Notre Dame: Two quality wins (Wichita St, Syracuse). Another team punished for their really weak non-conference schedule. It made ours look harrowing. They were 13-14 excluding the fluffies (7 games).

Nebraska's: One quality wins (MI @ home) Their second best win was pretty bad. Maryland?

At least the state of Illinois has Loyola to represent it. Who called that at the start of the season?

Not sure you should call USC and Louisville "quality wins" if the Committee doesn't put them in the tournament.

Selection Sunday means nothing without Illinois. This year marks so many other, "who cares," years, that Illinois NOT being there is the norm. Believe strongly in Trent and Underwood...just get us to the freakin tournament next year and win the damned thing shortly thereafter.

I’ll bet Tony Bennett is really upset he has to handle the strain of being the number 1 seed overall when he could have come to Illinois to coach and been calmly watching the tournament unfold.

Nebraska wasn't that good this year. #TRUTH

They still finished the conference with a 13-5 record, this is so far a deviation from any precedent in regards to the BIG in the field of 68 teams.

Ohio St was the lowest seed at 5, you are going to tell me Nebraska didn't earn a spot somewhere between #7-11? I'm not a Husker fan at, Illini through and through. But the committee selected 8-10 teams, this is a shame. If you don't finish at/above .500 you don't deserve to be in it. Would rather see a Middle Tennessee State than the 8-10 P5 teams.

Once again, this is the worse process/selection I can remember.

Can some please explain to me how an Alabama team that finished 19-15 with an 8-10 conference record got a 9 seed let alone a tournament bid. Yet Nebraska goes 22-9 and 13-5 in conference and can't even get an invite. Biggest tournament snub in years. If I'm Tim Miles I'm one pissed off Mofo and wondering why Nebraska can't catch a break even when they are a good team. NCAA selection committee needs to start doing their job without bias it's getting rediculous.

Who you scheduled matter more than how many times you lost. Its a crock of crap.
Alabama 19-15. Texas 19-14. Oklahoma 18-13.

Keep in mind BU talked in the preseason about creating a difficult noncon schedule. Should we be something like 19-14 next year and get in cause he does that, I doubt many on here would be calling it a crock of crap.

On the flip side, I think usc schedule strength was 37 according Andy Enfield, and they’re not dancing this weekend either.

Most complaints revolve around who got in vs. who didn't.

My biggest complaint is that the #1 overall seed (UVA) gets paired up potentially with Arizona or Kentucky in the S16. Arizona as a #4 seed? Really? That's probably the strongest #4 seed in recent memory, and you pair them up with the overall #1 seed?

Meanwhile, Kansas gets either Clemson or Auburn.

So the top #1 seed gets the toughest road to the Elite 8, while the weakest #1 seed gets the easiest road to the Elite 8. Okay.

OK State lost the play-in game to the FBI, as did USC and maybe Louisville.

If this has any weight, you could probably make the case that Arizona was dropped to a 4 and stuck in a killer bracket for the same reason.

A killer bracket I could easily see them advancing out of. This is less a killer for them and more a killer for UK, UVA, etc.

I'm concerned that the bar for BIG teams is going to be set much higher to get into the tourney. Not saying Syracuse doesn't belong in the tourney, they do it is called the NIT.

Exactly.

They're punishing Virginia as much as Arizona.

I'm sure many will disagree, but if you have a below .500 record in your conference, I don't think you should get it the tournament.

Won't be much of a feather is Izzo's cap if he doesn't go far with two lottery picks in his lineup. Already not impressive getting beat in the conference tournament. Still want BIG teams to win in tournament to raise prestige.

I tend to agree.

With a full roster, Arizona only lost 3 games all season (@Col, @ WA, UCLA). 3 of their losses were consecutive games in November without Rawle Alkins and a 4th loss was without Allonzo Trier and Sean Miller @ Oregon.

Most cbb fans haven't see much of Ayton b/c he plays in the PAC12. Once the tournament starts, that will change. I have seen him 2 times in person this season, the guy is a generational talent. I dislike UA fans and Sean Miller, but I think it is possible that he can single-handedly carry Arizona to the title.

I think the 2017 high school bigs/center class is the best/deepest I can remember. I agree Ayton is the best and most NBA ready. Just from the top of my head there is Ayton, Bamba(Texas), McCoy(UNLV), Jackson(MSU), Fernando(Maryland), Robinson(WKU decommit). A tier lower is Tilmon and a couple more. There is also some tall PF types like Porter and Bagley.

100% Agree.

I think you may many people would AGREE. Aside from the 8-10, 8th place finishing in the garbage Pac-12 Arizona State fans. .500 and a bottom half finish in your conf, I always thought was enough to end your chances or at least make you sweat. But Oklahoma not even being the last 4 in, show you how its more about your storylines than your record.
