Ok thanks, good info. That makes it hard to plan a ticket / hotel purchase. Is that BYU game the only factor that would push us out to Tuesday? I swear I’ve googled this to death and can’t seem to find info.
It really seems to happen to BYU every tournament.
Are we sure there is no rule that they decide the winner by best percentage? If so, Michigan will probably quit after they win their first game. The selection committee has honored the rule for the last 20 or so years so it has been something they've had to account for.
Why don’t they just start them in a different region so it’s a non-issue? Is the NCAA trying to advertise this accommodation for some reason? The selection committee has honored the rule for the last 20 or so years so it has been something they've had to account for.
Maybe because matchups are set as Fr-Sun and Sat-Mon (BYU). So 2nd set would play on 2nd day following weekend. Seems to make more sense thinking about it now.The selection committee has honored the rule for the last 20 or so years so it has been something they've had to account for.
Reason to pull for Loyola, I guess. If Tech loses to Loyola, we should be fine - the incubation period for the virus is longer than the two days between Loyola contact with Tech and playing us.Georgia Tech should not be allowed to play. Very worried about them having guys that are infected that haven't tested positive yet, and the possibility they could spread it to Loyola or Illinois players.
The team arrives for practiceThis is where contact tracing for our team really needs to be on point. GT avoided disaster because they strictly followed the social distancing guidelines. If we do the same and someone is infected we still stand a good chance of playing at close to full strength. The alternative is having half the team knocked out and playing with our walk ons.
The enemy of my enemy is my friend? Nevermind, this doesn't apply to Bohannon.Mixed feelings. Agree with the substance, but hate Jordan Bohannon.
The Fighting Illini website says it will be played in the Farmers Coliseum, Indianapolis, capacity 6,500.Does anyone know for certain in which arena the game will be played? Drexel board states about 3 options.
This is correct. I do not know where game 2 would be played - I can't find that announcement. The Fighting Illini website says it will be played in the Farmers Coliseum, Indianapolis, capacity 6,500.
You would think the NCAA would catch on by now! A fundamentalist Mormon does NOT play on Sunday. It really seems to happen to BYU every tournament.
I do not think there is a way to tell where game 2 will be played until after Round 1 is complete. All we know is that it will not be played in the Farmers Coliseum and it will not be played wherever Loyola & GT faceoff. Are there any sites that will be used ONLY for Round 1? If yes, then they come off the list of possibles as well. This is correct. I do not know where game 2 would be played - I can't find that announcement.
Sometimes it's pretty tough to overcome total incompetence. You would think the NCAA would catch on by now! A fundamentalist Mormon does NOT play on Sunday.
game 2 , should we win game 1 (the jinx gods require that statement) will most likely be in the Lucas Oil Dome or at Bankers Fieldhouse. This is correct. I do not know where game 2 would be played - I can't find that announcement.
The NCAA knows what it is doing and it did it in exactly the right way. Any team that wins on the first Saturday and Monday will next play on Sunday given the nature of the schedule. If you try to avoid that by starting them on Friday, then they wind up on Sunday in the second round rather than the third. You would think the NCAA would catch on by now!
