I remember watching the Arkansas game on Thanksgiving and the announcers stating that both teams were NCAA tourney teams. Although I like our chances better than the Hogs, that confidence is quickly waning.

This team and coaching staff are puzzling. No in game adjustments, no semblance of offensive philosophy, just playground ball.

We had the luxury of a seasoned roster last year. The mature vets like Marcus, TSJ, Q, Harmon and even CoHawk at times gave calming and sometimes harsh in-the-face voices in the huddle and on the court. Don’t see it with this squad.
Are they arguably one of the most talented squads in recent history? Sure. But the mental toughness, focus, logical and calming influence is not visible.

Seems like the coaching staff just lets them crawl out of the hole they dug themselves.

Just hoping to make the dance. Don’t care about any talk of regular season or B1G tournament titles. Just win the games you should be winning.

Guys I’m sure Ben is a great kid but he should not be playing more than 15 mins a game.

Swapping him for DGL in the closing seconds was boggling. Then have him start the OT and put up two quick bricks…

This is inexcusable on Brad.
Yes you have to go with the hot hand at that time.

The thing is I think this team IS playing hard. They wouldn't be crushing teams on the glass otherwise and they generally give effort defensively. The problem is mental mistake and execution. Turnovers, quick forced shots, breakdowns on defense. I don't know what the answer is but I think part of it is just being too sped up at times.
Yeah it’s not a lack of effort. They’re trying hard. More like focus (and an extreme inability to put the ball in the basket from out past the curvy line)

You guys are wild 😂 The Postgame thread shouldn’t open for 24 hours after a loss.

Get Tomi back, we’ll be fine. B10 title is gone but we can still beat anybody in the country and get hot in March

It’s UNREAL … And also why donors are gonna get sick and tired of the NIL era …

If I was donating that kind of money … Me and Brad would be having a 1 on 1 sit down …

I pick the players … You coach … Because his evaluation on Ben … Straight 💩
I was a big Ben fan and still think he could be a decent contributor, but as the 7th or 8th man getting 10-15 mpg. He doesn’t have the stamina to keep up, and when he does exert himself to play good defense, his legs are tired and affecting his shot. The fact that he has the green light when it’s clear his shot is way off is infuriating.

We need him to play the 5 until Tomi gets back, unfortunately.
You all saw what Booth does at the 5
Yeah, and that's fine. He gets some minutes because we don't have a better option right now, but he simply cannot come in for Dra at the end of the game or start of overtime. Again, it's criminal. Dra was the one to put us in a position to win, not Ben. Dra was the one to actually hit his shots, not Ben. And there's zero reason to play him with Rez on that court on a night when he can't make a basket to save his life. Situations and context matter.

Hate to even consider this given that BU has truly brought us back to national contention, but I think it has to be considered (not that Whitman would seriously do so at this point), is Brad's ceiling an Elite 8? With coaching like tonight I just don't see how Brad Underwood is even close to a leader whose team cuts down nets in March.

And why is one of our bigs virtually unplayable when we already have one red shirting?! Booth looks like a deer in headlights on both offense and defense.
two redshirting if you count Jakys
I'm assuming you think Ty could play a little 5 like I do.

He also made a number of boneheaded decisions down the stretch. He is talented, has a long ways to go, and is not yet able to be a reliable player. He's hi-risk, hi-reward at this early stage of his career.
It was nice to see him show more offense, but his defense has some room for improvement

The whole Tyler business has always felt very Iowa to me. in exactly the worst ways.

0 chance this happens... You know it and so does the rest of the fanbase. Underwood will keep preaching that we can shoot the cover off the ball, blah blah blah... Ben spaces the floor...
