I’m really not happy our assistant went to a direct competitor school. I’m sure he had other opportunities. Same conference, same division. Kind of a slap in the face to BB and Illinois. Bret gives him the opportunity, we give big money and he takes the job at Purdont. and starts doing crap like this. I know he was successful at Mizzou but come on.

Only other p5 opportunity was Colorado and that was Primes from the get go.

For the most part, you go to whomever offers you the most money. I've got no problem with that.

Now him trying to poke his nose in on the draft stuff, I find that fairly classless. Yes we all know you deserve credit. Have some class and just either be silent when their head coach/school tweets, or simply wish them luck or say something nice about them.

Yeah, it was too bad out freshman heavy secondary didn't hang with air raid just a few weeks into a new DC.

In fact, the entire defense was terrible, I mean how did they give up 13 points to that offense? 13?!? We're falling apart over here

I don’t really get the reference either, but it’s Bret Maverick playing cards there and I’m pretty confident that’s who Bret Bielema is named after and why Bret has one “T”. (Plus his brothers name is Bart.

Ehh but still gotta let people like that know who runs the program tho. I feel like it’s a fine line between politicking and keeping them liking you for their money, but also not letting them push you around.

My assumption: many of them saw a young black coach with no head coaching experience and thought they were gonna have some control over him, even if just perceived.
