Bears signed DE Robert Quinn. 5 yr/70 mil. 30 mil guaranteed

Think they just found Floyd’s replacement.

On the one hand I acknowledge that at least Pace wasn't throwing good money after bad in releasing Floyd. But it's another reminder of his criminal misuse of first round picks as Bears GM.

Apparently Bridgewater signed with the Panthers over the Bears because the Bears were more committed to Trubisky than the Panthers were to Newton.

Quinn had 11.5 sacks last season. Floyd had 11.5 sacks total the last 3 seasons. So yeah this is a massive upgrade. And having Mack, Hicks, and Quinn as your primary pass rushers is gonna give o-lines nightmares.

??? He didn't have a better option??? Or, am I missing something???
They had *2* 1,000 yard receivers last year in Godwin and Evans (Evans is 6'5", so a nightmare matchup with a solid QB)
They have *2* talented TE's to throw to
Head coach Bruce Arians

I think it is a pretty good spot personally...

Jameis Winston threw 30 Ints last year, 6 were pick 6s, and fumbled the ball 12 times. I couldn’t find how many of those fumbles were lost, but you get the point.

The Bucs d was actually pretty good, but was repeatedly set up in miserable field position.

There’s a lot of talent on that team and replacing Winston with Brady will immediately make them much better.

And btw, if the Bears bring in Winston, I will immediately find a different team to root for. A garbage qb and a garbage human being. I don’t need to spend 3 hours of my Sundays paying any attention to him.

If the Bears are going to trade for Newton, giving up draft picks and reportedly having to make cuts to clear cap space, surely it's to come in and start, no? And getting an idea of his physical status might be difficult in the current environment.

The Panthers are going to release Newton. They should send the Bears draft picks to take on Newton’s salary. Not the other way around.

If I was Newton I would ask Carolina to release me also. In any case, the remaining qb options left for the Bears to pursue don't really get me fired up for the next season.

The compensatory pick was the pick they got as a result of Amos signing with the Packers.

With this move, the Bears now have no picks in the 1st, 3rd, or 4th round of this year's draft.

I only really like this move if the Jaguars are eating most of the salary.
