11 and 9 shooting 71% with 2.5 blocks a game is a heck of a stat line. These freakishly tall kids often can't play a lick. This one can.

He has been held to 7, 5, 5, 10 and 8 (yesterday at ISU), in the past 5 games too.

I would think for a kid that tall he would own the basket to a far greater extent.

We should start an Illinois Loyalty FAQ that covers some of the questions that seem to come up every few months :)

The renovation of Huff that happened recently made it no longer able to host basketball games of any type. Sad as that is to me (love old time gyms), you can still enjoy gymnastics, volleyball, and wrestling in there.

That's what I figured. Still sad on the other points - finding a more suitable "quasi" home court. Quad cities? Sears Centre? Anyway, just go win in Orlando.

Vegas has UCF as a 3.5 fav.

Figure 2-3 points for home court. It still means vegas thinks they are a better team than us.

Need to tell the team that they've been disrespected, or start a rumor that Tacko Fall thinks we are white collar.

KenPom had one at 64 and the other at 67, I think

This also came up the last time we couldn't host the NIT - NIT games can only be hosted at on-campus arenas, so we couldn't even move the game to Parkland if we wanted to.

Did you ever notice that I-L-L- is right in the middle of wewillwin? As in #wewillwin.

In the famous words of Hawk Harrelson... "Don't stop now, boyszzz!"

It feels SO good to remember what it's like to win tournament games. Yes, it's the NIT, but it's basketball and anybody with pride will want to win just as badly as anywhere else. At this point, I'm happy it is simply winning in a tournament. I could be happy right now if they were winning in the West Suburban Recreational Summer League Tournament. Let's make make winning tournament games a HABIT again.

But what about Kenney? :)

We used to have games at Kenney when I was at Uni High. I can't believe that was actually the home of the Illini at one time, the place was a barn, at least in the early 80's.

Where did you get your tickets? I am trying and can only get $12 tickets in the Sections 203 and 204. Anyone able to get better tickets? They are not even offering the $20 tickets. Any idea where Illinois fans might be seated?

Unfortunately, after checking with both box offices, that's all I could find. I did find one reseller, but the tickets weren't much better and were $78 per ticket.

But it has been at the Assembly Hall since '63/'64...

Me too! (Uni Grad 2000 - I think there a few other uni alums on this board too)

I was going to suggest Uni Gym, but thought that reference might be too obscure for most...

Tacky Fall brings back memories of Manute Bol

He's very skinny and not particularly coordinated. But he tries hard and he can move, he's not a stiff.

I know I'm showing my age but I remember living in Dallas at the time another 7 1/2 foot center was looking at being drafted; Manute Bol who had a very similar physique to Tacko. The Dallas Morning News asked Dick Motta, the coach at the time, if he would consider drafting him? Motta said all he could think about was as a child pulling the legs off of grasshoppers, and was afraid that Bol might be too fragile for the NBA. The strange things I remember, and all the important things I don't.

Fall is listed at 290, Bol, currently, is 210 and I believe was much thinner when he played. Fall's definitely skinny, but IMO not nearly the same physique as Bol.

This was the only decent pic I could find for comparison and I think the scale may be off a bit, but it gives a feel for the difference in physique.

I had given up and just checked and they opened some other sections. When I went for 3 tickets right under the basket in Section 101 it said tickets taken by another fan by the time I completed the request. Not impressed by the way the tickets are being handled. Noticed you are in the villages. Likewise for me. Will probably watch from the comfort of my living room.

Well, let me be the first to say that "the bigger they are, the harder they Fall!"

I attended Uni High for a couple of years. Didn't graduate there because our family moved out of state.

I would've thought 7 years of decomposition would've done a lot more damage. Maybe the 210 is just the bones?

Sorry.
