Am I the only one loving the idea of blowing out ISU in BloNo?

I'm cheering in the NIT just for this to happen.

Unfortunately, I think it's more likely that the opposite happens if we play them. ISU is undefeated at home this year. That being said, I too would love to see that.

So not to get too excited Iowa just lost and the only #1 seed left is Illinois State. If we can win against BSU and then beat ISU we are the highest seed remaining going into Madison Square Garden.

For the record, I just asked siri who would win tonigh's games and she said that Illinois State favors UCF by 5.5 points and has Illinois an eight point favorite over the potatoes. And if you can't trust siri, who can you trust?

If tickets are 10-20 dollars like they are for ISU's game against Central Florida, I may just make the trip to see this (hopefully) happen.

I wonder how soon tickets would go on sale for an Illinois v. ISU game if they both happen to win?

Can we put up a "Had a 10 point lead against Winthrop with 3 minutes left" banner while we're at it?

I like this motivational tactic.

Stole this joke from Mark Titus, but I absolutely think you should hang up a banner for winning the NIT and technically being the 69th best team that year.

nice

If we win then which days could we possibly ISU? I'm guessing nobody knows because NIT.
Schedule's just been added to the NIT bracket.

If Illinois beats Boise State then it's on the road to ISU or UCF-

Wednesday, 6:00pm CT, ESPN2

We're a long way off, but if we won the NIT this year, I'd be happy to honor the student-athletes who overcame a difficult situation and won five games in a row against decent teams.

When Kentucky was in the toilet, four freshmen stuck with the team despite the coaching vacancy and probation. They had varying levels of success on the court, though none were superstars.

Their senior year, everything came together under Pitino and they just missed making the Final Four, losing on Christian Laettner's famous shot at the Spectrum.

At a celebration for the team in Rupp Arena (the highlight film ended with Laettner's shot in the air), the four players were stunned by the retirement of all their numbers. It wasn't because of how well they played, but because they stuck with the school through adversity.

Our situation is not nearly as dramatic, but in almost any NIT game I've watched, I've seen teams (particularly those from P5 conferences) just throw games away. We have a much better justification for packing it in. If Malcolm, Tracy, Mav, etc. refuse to do so and win the tournament, it will be a good memory for me.

Yeah, I think it's easy to take cheap shots at players who for the most have put their heart and soul on the line, going up against odds behind earnest if flawed leadership. Criticize but don't be snide, unless you can do better. And if you can, why haven't you?
