I'd like to think even Goode would have made at least 2 of Ben's misses from three and would have been no worst on defense.
Ben H was ice cold tonight and got schooled on defense. Boswell was a bust as well didn't play well at all. Bad L we must move on fast and regroup and understand Tuesday is a must win now. It will be ugly to begin B1G play with 2 Ls outlook wont be bright and they will feel the heat early. Defense fell flat in the 2nd half Martinelli schooled them down low. We are soft as Charmin tissue in the paint no enforcer or any dogs with height down there. Brad gotta trust Morez more as he is probably our only hope down there this season.
I don't get the gameplan from Brad the last 15 minutes. I just don't get it. I do not understand whatsoever how you don't pull a guy who the other team is clearly going after and embarrassing every single possession. Just awful decisions, awful clock management, and I don't know what plays he was drawing up OOB in pivotal moments. That was just an ugly ugly game coaching wise, and I have no explanation for what I just saw. Brutal loss.
The obvious answer is that Morez absorbs a lot of those minutes.
Or a made FT, for that matter.

Being completely serious … One of my biggest issues with Brad throughout his entire tenure is our looks out of timeouts … What’s our % on scoring out of those ??? I’d love to know it …

Good news is this will be a Quad 1 loss. For the "must win" crowd, the 2022 team lost a game in January at Maryland to a team that was much worse than this Northwestern team and still won the B1G championship. This game is insignificant.
But make no mistake, this was an easily avoidable loss that we gave away.

If we don't figure out some sort of inside scoring balance when our 3s aren't hitting, we will be average.
Oh wait, I kinda remember a stretch when Rez dominated the post tonight and we stretched it to a 10 point lead.
Then came the 1 on 1 3s and got manhandled on the defensive end getting backed down by smashed nose.
We played out of our minds against Arkansas and doubt we'll play like that very often.
Tomi has to shoot 3s, rez needs to get some post touches, and make layup, KB

Inexcusable. They were touting Ben as this elite shooter. Yeah he’s elite alright, at bricking every shot.

19 assists and only 11 turnovers is good. Shooting percentages were awful. Defense was good until the end of game. Ben wasn't the one getting scored on but he also wasn't contributing anything else and his shooting was way off tonight. Morez 6 points 5 rebounds in his short time and really impacted the game defensively which is what was needed tonight. I really want to see Will stop trying to draw fouls on 3s and just take the shot.
