Ben is taking his minutes because Brad obviously sees something in Ben and not in Morez. He might be the only person in the world that sees that but it is what it is.

I said it this week - Ben cannot start, he’s killing us defensively and when he’s not making shots he’s a total liability

KJ
Kylan
Riley
Morez
Tomi

Is our best lineup- just play them, it isn’t rocket science
This.

I continue to find the lineups perplexing at times. Also…found Jake Davis’ 2 minutes to be an odd choice.

How much worse is Jake Davis defensively than Humrichous? The answer may be "a lot", but he appears to be a much better 3 point shooter.

Pretty much my feeling too.

Having seen Illini hoops teams play well over 1000 games, this ranks as one of the five most poorly played and coached games of the past 70 years....and I sincerely hope to never see one played and coached at that level again.

Two things stand out other than shooting incompetence by both teams. First, the Illini led the rebounding efforts.......by one. Secondly, they lost the turnover battle 11-4. Not sure if they won any category in a meaningful way....but they sure lost on the scoreboard in spite of incredible shooting by KJ.

It is a head scratcher to me to try to figure a good reason to keep Riley on the bench as he plays well and hard at both ends....far better than Ben.

Let's hope this is the saddest and most disappointing game of the season.

Yeah, I think he was looking for someone to get open and hit some 3’s. Only thing that makes sense to me.

I mean it’s a literal carbon copy of last year’s game in their arena. They literally just switch until they get the matchup they want and torch us. I just don’t understand how there’s nothing we can do to avoid KJ guarding a 6-7, 220 pound Nick Martinelli 1-on-1 with literally no help defense. KJ is no pushover but how do we let them run that 8x in a row and hang 14 on us in overtime. Embarrassing we let that be a loss.

Game was lost, in my opinion, up 10 and we were content to just keep jacking up (and missing) threes - the next three possessions after we took that lead were missed threes. I know KJ bailed us out a few times down the stretch with big ones, but we have two - 2 (more than 1) seven footers. I know, Morez is 6-10, but the guy is a beast. When the threes aren't falling, why not start pounding it low - especially on the road!? Tomi is not ideally suited to that but Morez definitely fits the bill. If he can learn to shoot 55% FTs look out. But the constant, stubborn shooting of threes is a really frustrating thing about BU.

Yall are seriously over reacting bigly….

Weird game, things like this happen every night in college hoops, don’t see it being a trend. Let’s beat Wisconsin & give Tennessee all we got.

We good yall
But…Northwestern. Ugh.

Seems to me we didn't go inside enough tonight to draw fouls and to open up the outside game.
It looked to me like out outside game was pretty well covered by NW way too much.
IMO Riley is going to be great, but now he is still into playing hero ball too much, and he drives into traffic like he could in HS, but not in college. And, he does so with no outlet. KJ still does this a bit, too.
So, when they get that figured out...

I’m afraid Morez will be this years Danja. A high efficiency player with insane per 40 numbers that Brad doesn’t seem to want to play because he can’t shoot a 3.

Going to come to Ben's aid a little bit here. If he shoots his average we win this game in regulation by multiple possession. He is put in the game for one thing, to shoot threes. If he's in the game, he HAS to shoot them. You never know when a shooter will break loose from his slump.

If it were up to me, once we were up 10 or so midway in the 2nd half, I would have started to lean on Morez and a defensive minded line up a little more.
