Penn State 30, Illinois 13 Postgame

Kicking game was also very sub par. Missed FG, low punts allowing for decent returns, not being able to get the kick offs in the endzone allowing for returns passed the 25. I refuse to believe that a HS All American kicker can't boom it out the back of the EZ on kickoffs. He might not be trusted enough on FGs yet, but Olano should be on kick off duty, those were embarrassing today. And if they're doing that by design STOP IT.
I was also surprised by the short kicks. I thought we had the issue solved.

I didn’t see the whole game but the positive for me is that we didn’t get completely dominated like we did against Kansas- we played them fairly even for a large portion of the game with the turnovers really being the difference
I kept an eye on the stats on the scoreboard. The only significant difference through the first three quarters was turnovers. Otherwise the two teams performed virtually the same. Turnovers alone provided the PSU victory.

Loved seeing Bailey in the DB backfield. To me, he added a very solid presence as he had solid hits and tackles. He needs to stay healthy.
Loved seeing Feagin get the ball. Hope to see him a lot more in the FAU game. He also brought a more solid presence due to his height and weight as opposed to the smallish Love and mid-sized McCray.
Loved seeing Elzy get that TD catch!! He is going to be good for us.
Really hoping Bailey isn't going to become Mikey Dudek 2....great player with injury jinx.

Lunneys play calling has been bad most of the time he has been here. The main reason we had an offense last year was because of Brown and Devito, not Lunney. I've seen enough it's time to replace him.
So, you're saying that the reason that we were good last year is because we had an experienced, senior, Big Ten caliber QB and an NFL running back?

Now, with a QB that has started three college games with no proven RB....we're not as good?

That's a stunner.

Obviously, I'm being sarcastic, but your take here isn't good.

The offensive coordinator didn't throw 4 INTs and fumble it today ... However, Barry has room for improvement ... He knows that ...

I don't think we are in new OC mode yet though ... I'd say it's a 5/10 right now ... But I expect to see less McCray and more Feagin and more Elzy ... We have got to establish the run ... Love what I am seeing from Reggie Love ... Not liking what I am seeing from Pat Bryant ... Not happy with Kreutz today on the penalties either ...

And for all those saying we need Paddock ... Stop ... I like John ... But he is not a Big Ten QB ... We need our QB to get his swagger back and he will ...
We all know the favorite QB of Illinois and Bears fans is QB2.

he’s no Sean Lewis
Good news- he is from Chicagoland with Wisconsin ties

Bad news- Competing with Colorado with the influx of Deion cash from booste cash, big Big XII money, new ticket sales, etc.

One side question: how much of the current offense is "pure Lunney" and how of it is Bielema influenced either indirectly (based on current personnel and recruits most available for the staff like instate guys) or directly (eg must have power running game)?

Lots being discussed here. My take: Our offensive line is our weak point. This is our biggest issue. The defense played well enough to beat the inflated 7th ranked Pedos.

Luke’s 4 picks cost us the game but that is very unlikely to ever happen again.

So let’s rip off a bunch of wins against the Big Ten Less.

I'd also like clarity on what Lunney's O identity truly is meant to be. What are we/he trying to hang our hat on being really good at?
