The MOST disapointing thing to me is lack of support. No fans in the seats! Shame on us.
I know attendance appears to be down this year. But would guess the weather kept a few people away. Covered in mostly ice west of Springfield.

Yes, 15 plus inches of snow in Northern IL. Not many people traveling around here. Especially on a Sunday night.I know attendance appears to be down this year. But would guess the weather kept a few people away. Covered in mostly ice west of Springfield.
We still do that thing once in awhile where we pass the ball to someone (we will call him New Malcolm) and hope to god he is able to make a play offensively. Boy do old habits die hard.

As both a basic trainee and a basic training instructor, I know that in order to build up a trainee into a proper, functional, and effective member of our armed forces, you have to break them down. You must destroy dysfunctional personality traits, neutralize selfish behavior, and eliminate bad attitudes.
Only then can you build up the trainee to where you want them to be. Everybody gets torn down to their foundation and then built to what the military needs them to be.
I feel like that is what BU is doing/going to have to do. The trainee is Illinois basketball and the bad habits are a mixture of some players, some culture, and some skill.
I won't be surprised if the only 2 Groce recruits that are left on this team after next year are Frazier and Williams...but even if that's wrong, this rebuild is going to take awhile...from a systematic point, a recruiting point, and a culture/mentality point.
Bad decisions. Low basketball IQ. Terrible effort. Rolled over.
Yes, our talent level is not what it needs to be. But this is a very poorly coached team. I just hope it’s a combination of freshmen, roster turnover, and complex new system.
BU is not earning his paycheck this year.
I don’t agree this team is poorly coached. A coach can only do so much. Lucas can’t shoot or score regularly, or hit free throws. Alstork can’t shoot. AJ won’t shoot. Damonte can’t shoot. Finke can’t shoot. Smith is still shell shocked. Kipper can’t find consistency. We have no supporting cast at all next to Frazier and Black. The low talent level on this teaml can’t be understated

The talent level was clearly there the first half of the Missouri game!!
ThisI have been trying to get myself to stop watching the games because it is slowly driving me mad, think I'm going to cancel my tv package.....that way I don't have a choice.
Some guys can’t shoot free throws, but the coach owns a piece of team wide poor fundamentals- and free throws are part of that.
Alstork commits two hideously stupid fouls per game. He’s either not getting coached on it, or he’s ignoring the coaching and getting minutes anyway.
AJ “won’t shoot” —- coachable.
Losing attitude - coaching.
This “low talent” team was beating a Big Ten team 82-41 at one point this year.
There’s a really good chance that this will be our worst conference season ever in the Big Ten.
And we’re supposed to believe we have great coaching but our talent is just that much worse than ANY Illini team ever?
Yes, the talent level is truly that low! You can’t tell me the staff hasn’t repeatedly addressed Alstork’s fouling. We literally don’t have a better option. It’s been said in post game pressers over and over that guys need to pull the trigger when open. You can lead a horse to water but...
