I did not cry this time - just shook my head at why Brad couldn’t try a zone for two minutes

I think we’ll win if Nick hits his buzzer beater again View attachment 23530
BTW, I saw Ted Kitchell as a 14-year old, but he didn't hang 40. Ohio State beat IU by a point in Columbus in 1980. OSU had an outstanding team that season. Herb Williams, Clark Kellogg, Kelvin Ransey, Carter Scott, Jim Smith, Granville Waiters. Five players on that team ended up in the NBA. They played IU in Bloomington on the final day of the regular season for the BT title, and lost by 3 in OT. Made it to the Sweet 16 that year, as did IU.

Remember them well , pretty sure Granville still has a year plus Covid year left - I swear he played 15 years there …. And Clark could still lace up for them today

Well, that is pretty obvious Sherlock. I think we have all seen games where a really good player just goes off. He hit multiple shots with a hand in his face and the defense was very good. When Mayer gets hot, it doesn't matter what his shot looks like or who his on him, it goes down. We have had people on this team do that this year and put up few points before and after. I suppose our coaches suck, and our players are terrible.
Defense was not very good.

Bad day?

And with that being said, I still believe we are going to win this game tomorrow.

It's certainly still possible, but obviously this closes off one potential avenue towards victory because it leaves even less room for error.

We need a combination of the Hawkins from the Maryland game, Epps from the Iowa game, Mayer from Wisconsin and Rodgers from Penn State. And Goode and Melendez from last season lol.

I think the biggest loss from not having Shannon is that takes out your best weapon for getting to the rim/getting points from the free throw line. A big reason Northwestern won was going 14-14 from the line. Now a strong free throw shooter is out of the lineup for a team that has struggled from the stripe.

Love TSJ and everything he brings to the table and we are down a dog. give those minutes to Ty, Luke and maybe RJ. Nothing to lose tomorrow, and if we win awesome! The committee will be aware we are without our leading scorer so this turned into a free game with absolutely no downside, even if it’s a blowout. Let’s go!

And for the record, we aren’t going to win the BT regular season title and anyone from 1-8 could very well win the BTT, who cares! It’s all about March 16-19th. That’s it. Let’s just improve until then.

I wonder if RJ will break out.

I feel like he had the “I’m gonna be the guy mentality” as a slasher and shooter and when TSJ came in and played so well, it created a mental block.

It’d be cool if he found himself in Shannon’s absence and filled the void.

Lol, I did see this today (they are saying there’s a chance). We’ll see. One game at a time.

I think we’re more likely to finish 6-0 than Purdue is to finish 1-3, crazier things have happened! I definitely could see a path, maybe Wisconsin finally comes back to life and beats the Boilers, imagine if Wisconsin could turn back into a quad 1 & 2 win, our resume would be great. If that were to happen and we finish 6-0 we’re back in the 3 or 4 seed discussion. Lots of hoop to be played! Can’t wait..
