I take responsibility for the USC fiasco. I had my nearly 50 year old Illini hat (signed by both Doug Altenberger and Rich Weiss) at my brother-in-law's house for the Citrus bowl, and inadvertently left it there. The basketball team of course cruised from there, and last week, I was going to call him to tell him to keep it in order to keep the mojo going. I forgot to call him. He found the hat and put it in the mail last Friday. We all know what happened from there.
I'm sorry.
What’s a good email we can send a FedEx label to overnight this back to your brother in laws?

I was thinking that Bill Self is considered one of the best coaches in the country, and it seem like his Kansas teams always seem to have an inexplicable loss at home each year. I'm not going to go off the rails over the USC loss, and will chalk it up to bad karma. I fully expect our boys to bring it tonight.

Goode goes off, 5-7 from 3 we play much better but come up short for the first back to back losses in a while, 78-73.

I would say bad losses at home and in NCAA games (loyola and houston which was against 5 seed)

Insiders - any info as to what the injury is on KJ?

*all hush hush I know…just curious if a bad sprain, contusion, or what. Effects timeline.

Maybe every now and then, but this portion from his Wikipedia page suggests otherwise:

It does feel very off compared to a normal injury re: information. BU was giving NOTHING in the interview. Not even a “KJ’s progressing,” etc. and feels like we won’t have him tonight either.

So why would we announce to the world and our opponent his condition/status so they can prepare for him or not. We don't need to give Indiana any news as to whether or not he will suit up and play.. Let them find out on the opening line-ups.

If we hit shots (big if lately) I still think they have a math problem. We ought to be able to limit their 3’s (as we’ve done all year) and I just don’t know that they can be efficient enough from 2 to outscore us. Plus Ballo is still a below average FT shooter.

Biggest matchup for me is whoever Luke is guarding. He will either have to guard Tre or Ben and I don’t think he can check either. One of those two should feast.

Will be a tough game. Always hard to win in there. Hopefully we’ve cleaned some things up defensively and obviously getting KJ back would be a big plus.

I will say 84-77 Illini.

I hope we come out and are the aggressors…push the tempo, make it a high possession game…thus good defense (maybe some full court pressure) and good rebounding will be necessary…do this and I think we win…maybe by double digits

Here is my hard hitting analysis for tonight’s game: score more points than the opponent. Easy peasy.

We're going to need a chart of the various mystical artifacts that posters are in possession of, to make sure they are in the right place when called upon.

So have I missed anything? Is KJ playing or is Brad just playing his cards close to his chest (which is what I’d do)?
