That would suck, but it would be kind of on par for us, haha. It reminds me of 2019 where we got hot and won four straight after upsetting Wisconsin. At 6-4 and with a bit of a hot streak, 8-4 and a trip to Indy was actually still on the table. We of course lost a good game at #17 Iowa (the late hit on Peters), and proceeded to get our a$$es kicked against a 2-9 Northwestern team at home the next game to finish 6-6.
You (perhaps intentionally) left out the Redbox Bowl from that recap. 🤮

Sounds sad to say, but I had pretty much given up on Lovie and Co by that point, haha. I remember a TINY bit of hype going into the 2020 season that we could at least have some sort of mini-rebound to save his job based on returning personnel ... and then I watched our first game in Madison. YIKES.

Feel like this is all going to be moot when we only throw it 15 times and rush it 40.

The real crux to this game feels like if griffin can be as close to perfect as possible. He’s been far from great this year.
I'm hoping that we'll be in position to run the ball that many times. With Feagin's injury, is Reggie (coming off his own injury) capable of carrying the ball 25 times? I have a feeling the ball might be in the air a little bit more than it would be if we had a healthy/deeper running back situation.

Well everyone else has expressed their thoughts so might as well say what I think too..

JP has been fantastic the past game and final drive vs. Minny.. However he did have a full summer training camp to win the starting position and did not.. Luke won the starting job and i believe the BB is correct in starting him against the Squakeyes. If this had happened after the PS game where Luke was pulled from the game because of his performance then JP becomes the starter then. But I do not believe you lose your position due to an injury. If you start Luke you give him a short leash, if he under performs then you make the change. I am sure BB and Looney already have a plan in their minds to do what is best overall for the team to win this game.. It is to meaningful of a game to just say we are staying with Luke period. I respect BB in clearly setting a standard, now no matter the position he has to maintain that standard. I as a player want the coach to have my back in case of an injury that would make me sit, know when healthy i would get my start again. I don't think this affects the other players as much as some here think, I believe it only makes the team stronger.

Yes and please can Fagin be healthy to play.
What is Feagin's injury? Hand?

I was at that game. Andrew Marty looked competent. He wasn’t, but he looked like it

“The whole secret lies in confusing the enemy, so that he cannot fathom our real intent.”
― Sun Tzu, The Art of War
- All warfare is based on deception

- Hence, when able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces, we must seem inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near.

- Hold out baits to entice the enemy. Feign disorder, and crush him.

- If he is secure at all points, be prepared for him. If he is in superior strength, evade him.

- If your opponent is of choleric temper, seek to irritate him. Pretend to be weak, that he may grow arrogant.

- If he is taking his ease, give him no rest. If his forces are united, separate them.

- Attack him where he is unprepared, appear where you are not expected.

"Sun Tzu, you magnificent bastard, I read your book"!

I did not realize Iowa's defense is ranked #3 in the nation. More importantly if you or anyone thinks we will run the ball effectively against Iowa just not correct. No one has and we will not be the 1st.
Rutgers gained nearly 200 yard rushing against Ohio State, 74 yards against Iowa. 2nd half against Rutgers, Iowa gave up Only 20 yards of offense! Let me repeat it 20 yards of offense in today's game. Unthinkable, Iowa will still be locked and ready without Dejean... 💯
Iowa's defense is Allowing on 4.4 yards per play all season long! Phenomenal...
Now let's go beat them, the Big10, and the Referees!!!!!!

The Altmyer decision really took a lot of excitement out of it for me. What was an extremely interesting game is less so now. Inexplicable decision there. Makes no sense to me after how hot he has been, but let's hope Altmyer can perform well and take our Illini to victory. And I certainly hope we get to see Paddock again.

My daughter is good friends with several of the OL. She says they *think* they know who will start at QB on Saturday, but even they’re not sure. LOL.

I'm also sure they've been told not to let anyone outside the team know. Why ruin competitive advantage?
I doubt the team knows . 85 guys can’t keep a secret

I bet Bret , Lunney & only a few other coaches know

The decision hasn't even been made (publicly) yet.

Unfortunately program politics are going to see Altmyer start. He has 2 more years of eligibility after this season and they will want to keep him happy with the program so he stays and is bought in. Paddock out of eligibility after this season.

It sucks, but that's the consideration that is likely going into it.

I do like that we’ve trended from Luke is our starter because players can’t lose starting spots to injury (except for Love I guess) with insider spin that Paddock’s performances have been overrated in the beginning of the week to a game time announcement of the starter on Saturday.
