We REALLY need this one. Another HUGE GAME. Would love to give them an 0-2 week and possibly get into the top 10-12 in the process.

With our limited bench depth, I'm perfectly fine with the defensive identity this team (next year's team should be better offensively )has for this season. It would be nice if Kipper and Damonte could chip in a few buckets but that stuff is gravy after the efforts they put in tonight doing the dirty work. I hope this defensive effort continues against an Iowa team that has torched us offensively in the BU era.
WE have a new defense philosophy and Kofi in the middle. We wont leave shooters vs them or anyone like we did last year. It is a new scheme with a big dude down low. We are good at guarding the three now last year is in the past.

Should Giorgi guard Garza? It doesn't seem like Garza is quite as excellent at banging inside. He seems to be unreal at facing up and shooting jump shots over people.
It will have to be a team effort. I am not sure anyone in the B10 can guard him one on one. i think guards will need to help out top and not let Kofi get fouls out there . We miss Verdonk. W ehavent had him all year and at 6'8'' 240 and a shooter he was brought he to fill that hole. Its will take a team effort. We certainly need Kofi and GB and i would not be shocked if they were not on the floor as much vs Iowa,

Uhhhh have you watched Iowa? Banging is Garza's middle name. He loves contact.
The team will have to guard him. He can play outside too and we dont want Kofi out there. Oturu got fouls on Kofi and could have had more. We dont have a Draymond Green type of physical guy to play inside and out. I had hoped that was Verdonk. and it may be he has just been hurt since day one. It is why it will take a team. FYI most teams dont have that guy like Mississippi State's Reggie Perry.. We can switch and guard. BU will have a plan.

#8STR8. Welcome back AG. This is FUN!

Would love AG to prove himself on his return and help shut down Iowa shooters....Tousannt will be a handful for any of our guards btw

Honestly, my big hope for this season was the trifecta of W's against Miznoz, Iowa, and scUM. We swept scUM and lost to Miznoz.

Beat Iowa for 8 in a row...I'll feel way better about the stupid Miznoz game.

Garza will get his. We need to keep him off the offensive boards. Limit his second chance attempts. Shut down the threes and keep Kofi out of foul trouble.

No way Kofi can guard Garza on the perimeter....was kind of surprised last night that Minny didn't use Oturi to pull Kofi away from the paint a little more than he did.......a couple of times Oturi did he went around Kofi easily.....Kofi just isn't quick enough (foot speed) to guard guys like Oturi and Garza 12-15' from basket

This is the game that worries me most out of the next ten. I think the quality of our three point defense will be what determines whether we win or lose.

I also think this is the toughest game. They have size and can shoot. Shot 36% from three against Rutgers and out rebounded them. Would be a great win but not expecting it. Would have felt bad losing to Minny but still upbeat if this is a loss. Rutgers also a tougher game than MSU at home imo.

Yea, Garza's going to get his. Need to keep our bigs out of foul trouble and in the game, and not let the other Iowa perimeter players go off for big numbers. We need to be better offensively than the last couple of games.

No doubt this is a tough matchup, and if I were a betting man, I’d put my money on Iowa. But we’re seriously not giving ourselves enough credit. #1, our defense has been terrific. #2 we’ve proven we can win on the road. #3, Yes Garza is going to be a matchup problem for Kofi, but so was Oturu, and Kofi still got a double-double. And reading the Iowa boards it sounds like they haven’t realized Ayo has been the best player in the Big10 in January.

This one's gonna get chippy. Gonna need composure. Kofi, Garza and Giorgi will be bangin'! Old school B1G!

Find a way to get Garza frustrated and off his game early. I think Kofi is quick enough to stay with him outside, but now we have to guard the cutters with the lane cleared out.
Maybe our toughest road kill of the year after Sparty.

Tough game for Alan Griffin to come back into, given what he's coming off. Or maybe its the best one to come back to since he should be most "reformed" coming into.

You must’ve missed Kofi guarding Oturda outside, staying between O and the basket, then forcing a walk...
