Mav dropped 21 and 10 on them last year, so it is very good to see him hot now.

I think we squeak by this one 67-65. Let me go back to my orange eggnog now.

The gauntlet begins! Our first 4 are...

@Maryland
Ohio St
@Indiana
Michigan

Just for fun, would you rather go 1-3 but that win is @Indiana or 2-2 (losing to Indiana)? Initially I was thinking I would rather beat IU because there aren't as many chances at elite wins as there normally are in the B1G. But I'm on the fence so I would love to here some other opinions.

1-3 because that's guaranteed to be a top 25 win on the road while the rest wouldn't be bad losses even at home. Either one would be great though :D

True in that either one would be OK as none of those are bad losses. I'd take 2-2 because I want to start defending the home court. We've lost too many conference games at home recently.

I'll take winning 2 no matter which way we get it.

As long as our losses are all within 10 pts or less, 2-2 would be great way to start with our first 4 games.

Call me crazy, but I think we start 2-2 at worst.

And after that Maryland, Purdue and Michigan.
2 wins out of those 7 is about what I expect.
If one of those was at IU or PU.....outstanding.

Honestly believe Maryland will be exposed and that all their "good wins" will also be exposed in conference play. Illinois by 8

Man I really feel like we're going 3-1 in that stretch and I don't know why

Lots of orange kool-aid drinking going on here. We haven't done anything to prove we're better than Maryland, and they're at home. This is a winnable game, but Maryland is the clear favorite.

Man oh mannnnn if we win this game that would be absolutely outstanding because this Maryland team is overrated. What is their best win this year? Everytime I have watched them they just seem so "eh". But we are probably the same way.

Students on break, 4pm start, 6 game winning streak, MVP Morgan;), I think this all are ingrediants for a Big time big ten road win. I think this game, and Michigan at home are VERY winnable. Plus OSU is pretty bad, wouldn't be surprised with a win their. 3-1 start letsssss gooooo

I think it depends on who is overrating them. For example, KenPom has them ranked only a few spots higher than us whereas they are receiving votes in the polls.

They lost as much talent last year as any team in the big ten though and are usually a team we have done well against in the past, so I agree that is a winnable game. I am expecting another ugly nail biter, and hoping we can have good games from Leron and Tracy

Maryland is Melo Trimble and a batch of players who will probably be good someday. It is a very young team, and young teams are inconsistent. Turgeon complains about that in interviews. We could win by five or less or lose by up to 20.

If we start 3-1 we finish 12-6 and get a double bye in the Big Ten Tournament. I don't see that happening.

To me I don't see us winning @Indiana so mark that as a loss. We're going to have a really hard time defending Michigan so I see that as a loss. Beilein if I remember correctly owns Groce head to head.

That leaves Ohio State at home and @Maryland. I think we get by Ohio St in a close grinding game. That leaves us at 1-2. To me this Maryland game is huge. Could go either way, but it's winnable. Never know with this team but it's a swing game for sure.

Take the wins. More wins = better. Should all be Top 50 wins at the end of the season so not a ton of drop off.

Agreed and this board will be unbearable when that happens. It will be impossible for some to get it through their head that the back half is about as easy as it gets in a B1G schedule.
