Yes, it’s in East Lansing.

Yes, Fears is a B****

Yes, Izzo will be working the refs.

Yes, MSU is desperate…

They’re down a starter

The microscope is on Fears

They have 0 half court offense and shooting

We are the hottest team in America

They CANNOT outscore the #1 offense in kenpom history

We. Will. Win.

Not sure if this has been posted. Izzo on Fears. Really. Who is to blame. Baiting him but it's his fault?

"I did not see what happened on the play," Izzo said. "I saw him get pushed and I saw his leg come up and I didn't think he hit anybody, but if he did, then he deserves it, I guess. But if he didn't, I questioned it. So are they baiting him? Well, of course. And it's his fault."
I wish someone could explain to me how other teams are supposedly "baiting" Fears. How do you bait someone into kicking in the groin, tripping, forearm to the neck, etc?

Just watched Izzo’s pregame presser. Some real sociopathy/narcissism in his answers on Fears. Some highlights
1. There’s more to the story/more than meets the eye.
2. What Fears actually did subject to interpretation depending on what angle it’s viewed at.
3. Both sides are doing it.
4. No intent to injure
5. Deflection - he’s a great kid otherwise, goes to class, stays out of trouble etc.
6. Whole situation has taken up too much of his time.
7. He’s not sure what he’s going to do in the situation.
8. But, he doesn’t tolerate dirty play.

He may have told Fears to create more plausible deniability but no way he’s told him to knock off the dirty and dangerous play, and 0% chance he doesn’t start.

Buckle up.

Tom Izzo has covered up multiple rapes and other crimes - he ain't gonna let a few dirty plays actually effect his best player's playing time.

What makes me smile every time I read it. Izzo says he didn't see what happened then gives a pretty detailed description of what happened. What he should have said is that he didn't have time to come up with a plausible excuse as to why Fears is not a dirty player.

So Sparty doesn't take a lot of threes? They have a tough defense, espcially at home, but is it better than Nebraska's at the bank? If my calculations are correct, we scored 1.25 points per possession at Nebraska. Tough to beat that with twos. Whatever, Sparty will need to outscore us at the other end to win. I couldn't quickly find (and didn't try to calculate) their average points per possession at home, but I did find a reported "offensive efficiency" number for them at home this year. Is that a fair substitute for ppp? For Sparty, that OE number (at home) is 1.16.

Looks like they're going to need to either do better against us defensively than Nebraska did, or do quite a bit better than they usually do at home (or both) to beat us. I guess a hot night from deep could work for them, but that's not their forte.

Also he mentioned 2 or 3 times that he beat us twice last year. lol

Are you Jeff Goodman?

I'm not a big Jeff Goodman fan, but he's right. It's unfathomable to think that an Izzo coached team will come out flat, at home, in a backs totally against the wall, us against the world scenario......laying an egg. Their starts to these last few games are what have killed them.

We're homers. Of course we're going to disagree with him. However, if they were playing literally anybody else, we'd feel the exact same way.

This is the most emotionally charged game that we'll have all year. For us to win, we're going to need an out of this world performance. I'd say the exact same thing if MSU was playing Arizona.

Can we win? Of course! Would I ever bet against an Izzo team in this situation. No way. I totally see where he's coming from.

I would not be shocked to see us winning, I would not be surprised us losing a close one and I wouldn't be surprised if we got run out of the gym.

This is literally one of those we couldn't have picked a worse time to play them games.

I think both guys can be right, thus the -1.5 spread.
